whathef....

1. your 1st assumption is wrong....I started from zero at 22... yes, the
journey was/is crazy....
Anyway, I have no qualms with people who earn less than me...(5 figures is
not much anyway, check out the other forums with so many people driving new
audis, BMW, benz, camry, accords etc)..... just those who seem so keen on
dispensing advise (in this case financial) to public but has nothing
(professional opinion or otherwise) to back up their statements...

2. the only significant advise I've given is that "earning 5 figures is a
state of the mind"...
someone here has stated previously to earn 5 figures in malaysia would
probably put you at the top 8-10% income bracket...
so if you have always been in that performance (8-10%) bracket all these
while..why shouldn't it be achievable?
if you always been top 10-15 in school, graduate top 5-10% class in UK uni,
etc...so why is earning 5 figures so impossible? no one says that it will
be easy and it's take some time (years probably) , but with proper
planning, some luck, alot of prespiration, dedication, it's a real possiblilty.

If you guys say, making a cool million by 30, then maybe only a handful of
people might achieve that (which I dare not even suggest)... but making 5
figures in RM?? 2.5k USD??!! did you guys actually tried? or or have
already started with a big "I CAN'T" in the mind.....

Amazing how you guys can actually argue your way to be a "I CAN'T" rather
than "CAN DO"..Big Smile

This is a quite an interesting thread. Hope people don't mind me reviving
this.

For discussion purpose, let's refer to salary as net salary per month
after tax and EPF before any loan commitments.

What do you think of the following purchases, for someone who is single
and in his late 20's or early 30's purchasing these items on his own:

1) Car : 12 months salary
2) House : 60 months salary
3) Most expensive watch : 1 month salary

Let's hear your opinion, whether it's too extravagant, okay or prudent.
