guys
my camry seems to have a discoloration of the body paint (winestone
red),particularly at the non-metal parts
UMW guys already took the digi pics, and soon they will come back to
me...of course they still have to repaint the affected parts

the point is to have the paint defect for a brand new car is unacceptable,
particularly from Toyota.of course i can claim for warranty, which i
already did as i wont let 'em get away with it easily

Mega,

No surprise !!! UMWT 's ASSB is doing all the assembly and painting job at
Shah Alam.

Technically speaking, you need to have a good quality of water to wash a
bare metal/plastic they called DI water (De-ionized water) before spray
painting. If the quality of the washing water contains ions, they will
stick to the bare metal and this affects the adhesion of paint to metal.
Thats why the paint will come off or in time the whole patch might just
dropped off.

And ASSB is using 'untreated underground well water' for their production,
I think.

Note : Pls do not sue me for the above statement if not correct !!, eh

meganh,

you are not the only one. my beige altis has "leopard" spots all over the
car. I am making them paint my whole car

shame on UMWT to allow such defective cars to leave the factory without
proper QC check .

this is indeed a worrying situation...

shame on them Angry
i think this is due to the fact that at one time the Camry is hot in demand
which i think it is still is now, that they didn't QC properly. hopefully
this is an isolated case. At least, they admitted and re-painted ur car! good!
