the sales manager when I paid the deposit. On the day the LOU was issued
on 14/8 and only after the manager "allocated" the car to me, I paid the
difference and got a receipt.
My close friend was an EON branch manager years ago when the Proton was a
hot car and every Tan Sri Datuk Tom Dick & Harry wanted to jump the queue
and believe me, my friend was like the Sultan having an audience, and
believe me, people were allowed to jump the queue.
All I'm saying is that, don't ever make plans to dispose off your present
ride in anticipation of the promised delivery date for the new Lancer!
Fortunately for me, I'm not in dire straits, simply cheesed off that
someone is evading their promise.
Incidentally, when I paid the deposit I walked over to the Service
Department, and although they were real friendly and helpful, please note
that they had not at that point in time (9/8) got the technical specs of
the car and could not advise me what type of synthetic engine oil I could
purchase to be used instead of the semi-synthetic oil they give as part
of the maintenance-free benefit.
I agree - the car is great (except for the worry about the CVT heating up
on prolonged high speed drives) but MMM will require the patience of a
saint from all of us.

of "pending chassis". Person-in-charge on leave today and will be back
tomorrow. At least the sales manager has the courtesy to pick up and
answer.
Salesman is avoiding my phone call!!!!
The customer has to follow-up and sadly not the other way round.
Getting worried - RM116K price is great but I'll probably spend more in
health supplements and medical expenses over the 5 years they warrant the
car's wellbeing.

Same here, dude.
My wife's been checking out her brother's '05 Toyota Wish already. CBU and all.
He said he's willing to sell it a little bit cheaper than the Lancer... to
offset the interests charges - new vs used. And because it's a sibling thing.
But, services and parts would be expensive, since grey import...
So, wait lah.. SA said middle of Sept... Otherwise, I'll cancel.

just after the 2 years, the passenger window has acted up and the
polyutherane hinge connecting the glovebox (which is rarely opened and
shut) to its compartment has almost completely torn off! This is for a
car that is double the price of the Lancer!!
Conclusion:
My view is that for the RM116K price and especially the 100,000 warranty
I have to be prepared to wait and bite my tongue.
My only advice is for those who book and dispose off their ride (other
than via trade-in) in anticipation of delivery, please be wary of delays.
With such a "hot" car, they will give low trade-in values anyway.
I don't blame the salesman so I won't give you his name (don't want to
affect his rice bowl). I blame the buggers who sit on the Board and who
park their Audis (this gets me even more irritated)in front of the
showroom. They are the ones who are not being accountable!

and I may be willing to take it up as I have not booked yet... still
waiting for some sort of confirmation from high and above as I feel not
at peace due to the services provided and the long waiting period...
