well known for it's ability to maximise the ratio at different engine
speed. Futher more Vtec has better power to weight ratio compare to a
lancer 1.6.

floor the pedal right, e.g flooring the pedal in progresive, harder as
the speed getting faster. In fact I think its better than Sylphy's CVT.
Honda City is like driving a toy. No matter how you adjust your flooring
position. Press lightly or floor hard, same. Guess I'm really an idiot in
playing with a City's CVT. SO viggensaab2020 is right.

Confirmed not rumour. I only worried on the power plant. They might sacrifice off the 4Bxx series and dump in the ....yucks.....Campro.

From what I heard, it will not be a rebadge, therefore not using Campro or anything related to Proton. Just want to know if there are any other stories? Cheers.

definately will affect current owners value. Imagine if indeed it is a rebadged of the current lancer model at $110k+ and proton offer a rebadged at $70-80k+, which one will you buy?

Previous Waja is based on Mitsu Carisma platform but doesn't look like Carisma. MMC placed its current Lancer protected as to keep its high built quality to polish its once damaged image. That's why Lancer is CBU not just local but other countries as well. MMC is willing to forgo high profit just to repair its image.
If MMC allowed Proton to use the Lancer platform, the new Waja is not a rebadged but just share the same platform with different look. Proton with Lotus help could now build any body of its own design as long as the chasis frame is provided.
Hyundai & Kia Motors could use latest Mitsu 4BXX series engines because Korea financed & backed MMC all times especially during its darkest hour. Will MMC sell its 4B series engines to Proton is still a question mark. Even China cars are getting only older generation engines from MMC, all started with 4GXX.
