bro kar,
r u from s'ban? maybe my bandwith out lah. i listen to hitz.fm,
u what? he he he. anyway, i managed to find the oil here in s'ban but i
have a new problem. i hope u can help me.

the lancer manual says 8.1 liters of cvt oil is needed. the last time
i chnaged in eon, they used 5 bottles(i presume it is 5 liters) and the
Mitsu Diaqueen ATF SP3 comes in 4 liter cans.

so, what do i do now? do you know how much actually is needed?
thanks, i really appreciate ur help on this. tq.

lancerbm,

No la bro i'm from ipoh Big Smile I listen to klasik fm.. no wonder outta synch.
8.1 liters? This car isn't a 3-4000cc car la bro. Yup eon used 5 lit - and
that is way more that what is required; if u use the atf measurement stick,
it'll point above "max" level. That's why the car feels heavy.

Trust me. Just flush the oil and fill up full 4 liters. That's it. No more
no less. Take the reading. It'll point exactly to the "max" level. I put
long miles after changing them. No problem. No complaints. Touch wood. Next
week I'll be putting long millage again and I'm looking forward to it -
another exhilarating drive.

mykar,
i just called eon and they told 8.1 ltr is when u do a complete
overhaul of the gearbox and normally they use 5 ltr when just do normal
servicing. i agree with you on the 4 ltrs. i checked my dip stick and it
is above the max line. thanks for the info bro. have a good trip.

Lancerbm,
I won't let some incompetent eon monkeys doing some gbox "overhaulin" on my
car. I just don't trust them. Better be safe than sorry. Well it's nothing
actually. Knowledge is meant to be shared. I like it that way.
Keep in touch bro about yr trip to HK alrite?
TQ

mykar,
i just changed my oil yesterday and yes, 4 liters is just nice.
i did feel a difference after that. less heavy. i also changed by battery
yesterday because for the past 3 days i was finding the morning start up
a bit weak. battery price has gone up so much with the recent spike in
Lead commodity value. i got a maintenance free batt from GP which is the
original spec for our car (din55) at rm250. other batt sizes would not
fit the batt bay.

Lancerbm,

Glad to hear that u're happy with it. How long have u been using ur car?
I've my car for 2yrs plus now. But haven't change the batt. I use pure
distilled water for the batt. It prolongs the car batt life span compared
to normal ones in the market. So far no prob. The outside ones have acid in
them and it shortens the car batt life. This distilled water is pure one, u
can drink it like normal. I know becos we have loads of batteries at our
rectifiers and we use them eons ago Big Smile

MYKAR,
i bought mine in dec05, reaching 2 years by this dec. i did
take care of my batt properly from the time i bought it. i could have
just recharged the batt when i was having some starting problem, but i
dare not risk it as i depend on my car a lot. anyway i think anything
above 1.5 years on a batt life is good enough for me.

one question, i did install a voltage stabilizer to help control my
current and prolong batt life. do you think this device is good? or did
it actually help in a premature detoration of my batt. would like to hear
your point (and others as well) on this type of so-called "Voltage
Stabilizer". tq.

Lancerbm,

I'm not sure about this thing called voltage stabilizer. I'd rather use the
conventional way. My previous iswara oso last bout 3+ years using that batt
water i mentioned earlier. Dunno about others lah.

If good then use it. Otherwise leave it as it is. It's better that way.
Medlling with the car's electrical/curcuitry can invite hazard to your car
being if it improperly installed. Perhaps will void warranty.

Happy driving Smile
