Dear Aveo owners

Finally got my car last Thursday, after waiting for it for 2 months! As I
thought so, a pretty nifty car to have! And unexpectedly, the smoothness
of the engine and pickup! Dare not drag it before its breaking in period
is up!

Do you guys feel any jerkiness in the gear changes? Am so use to Honda
City's CVT so I am not sure whether this is a norm for the Aveo! Hope
someone can enlighten me with their experiences!

Anyway, was reading the Warranty book last night and I hope that someone
can clarify or share their experiences with Hicomobil's 2 years warranty.

According to the coupons and warranty booklet, free maintenance services
are provided at 10k, 20k, 30k and 40k only. What happens on the following:

1. if 6 months comes first? Neither the coupon or warranty booklet
mentions whether we are covered by that. Any comments?

2. Should I use the car for city driving and what the booklet classified
as critical conditions, it is advisable that lubrication services are done
every 5k. This would be the most common. Any comments.

Regards.

answers to your ques...

1. usually it means whichever comes first. if 10K comes first b4 6 months,
then u will service at 10K. if 6 months come first and your meter is less
than 10K, u still need to service. so if u drives long distance
frequently, your 40K free coupun will be used up within a year.
2. the service interval is 10K. they are using semi-sync oil. be kiasu a
bit like me, i did a service at 1K and my next service will be at 10K. i
don;t think u need to change the oil every 5K if u;re using semi-sync.
recommended 7.5K-8K for a change. personally i beleive 10K internal for a
semi-sync oil is not a problem.

Dear All

I was informed by Hicomobil that the warranty for all models of Chevy in
Malaysia, similar to that of other makes, is confirmed that if one does
not reach the 10k mark but in the 6th month, this is covered under the 2
years free service and maintenance by Hicomobil.

My concerns here were that the Service Booklet provided by Hicomobil only
stated the 10k - 40k marks clearly and likewise in the coupons provided.
There was no mention of the months in them. However, the Scheduled
Maintenance Charts mentioned the months in the maintenance interval.

Should any of you face problems with these, please ask the SC to contact
Hicomobil to sort out the warranty issues.

Has any of you encountered this problem as yet?

Regards.
