Really ar, the Gen.2 is a copy of the Mazda / Ford and the rear light is a
copy of the CLK Merc Wah, did not know that.
Wah, did not realise that the seating is very high, thought that the
seating is highest on the CT, then the Vios and Gen.2 about same seating
height.

The Vios is not quite a 3rd World car - I read somewhere it's based on the
Toyota Yaris/Echo/Vitz which is sold throughout Europe and in North
America.
Having said that, my preference in the context of "Gen2 v City v Vios" is
the Honda City. I'm particularly impressed by its interior design,
interior quality (in terms of fit and finish as well as in the material
used), spaciousness, innovative rear seating configuration, CVT gearbox,
smooth engine and comfortable ride. It may look a bit unconventional (some
say it's ugly), but as one spends all of one's time inside the car when
driving it, a nice interior is to my mind more important than a nice
exterior.
Interestingly, the "Gen2 v City v Vios" article which was written by a
Singaporean reviewer and which appears in the December 2004 issue of
Torque Malaysia was quite kind to the Gen2. There was none of the
merciless bashing that many Malaysians would have expected from a foreign
review...
By the way, unlike the Malaysian market City, the City tested in the
article was a basic Singapore-spec iDSI model without ABS nor airbags
(only the VTEC version has these items for the Singaporean market)
although it has a rear center seatbelt which is missing in the Malaysian-
spec City, whereas the Gen2 as tested was the Singapore market model with
ABS and 2 airbags, which we don't get here in Malaysia. As for the Vios,
the model tesed was the Singapore market 1.5E model which has 2 airbags
and ABS (in Malaysia, the 1.5E model only has 1 airbag and no ABS; if one
wants 2 airbags and ABS, one has to go for the 1.5G model).
