hi,this is tristan here. i'm planning to sell out my sentra(2002 model)
and buy a smaller car for my personal usage. i'm so sick of my sentra,
and looking for a car that can make driving more fun and enjoyable.

i'm planning to buy a suzuki swift. however, i'm not sure whether i
should wait for CKD swift 2007 (instead of CBU swift) and new swift
sport. can anyone, especially owner of suzuki swift, tell me what to do?
wait or just go for it now.

i heard of the current swift promotion, cash rebate. is anyone know how
much should i pay for a new swift after the cash rebate; and what's
the 'terms and conditions'? how about d performance, power and FC of
suzuki swift.

thanks in advance!

basically u have 2 choices either getting a secondary information from
forumers or get a primary information from the showroom(s).
If u r serious and doubt of any bias information, I'd suggest for u to
hop in to any nearest suzuki showroom to test drive this little car and
see what do they have in store for u.

my last piece of advice is that buy a swift if u want something fun to
drive... u will not regret...

As someone already mentioned, go to the showroom yourself to get a better idea of the finance part
of it. Get it straight from the source Big Smile

From a driving perspective, the Swift IMO is somewhat fun to drive but the engine is a letdown.
Pretty sluggish unless you rev it real hard. The 1.5l Honda VTEC in the City/Jazz is so much better,
although the City sucks and the Jazz is way out of your budget.

The only other car with similar fun to drive characteristics, but with a significantly better engine is
the Smart ForFour. Same price (now after discount), disadvantages are the plastic interior and that
panoramic roof. The Swift interior is just leagues ahead.

In the end, in my case, I liked the Swift a lot, but didn't buy it because I just didn't think it was worth
the amount they're asking for. Didn't buy the Honda or Smart either. Big Smile

Nothing wrong with the Swift 1.5l engine really, it's just that the 1.5l
engines from Honda and Mitsubishi (in the Smart) are just a lot better.

Enjoy your new Swift!

If you have done a research on the Swift, you should know that the throttle
cable from stock isn't well tighten. Get your SC to take a look at it and
find out if it is tighten or not for better performance.

Of course you can't compare the car to VTECs. WHen those valves open, its
all a different story. But you also have to pay more for the VTEC engine
unless you get a second hand 1.5L Jazz (around 60+k) or 1.5L Fit (70+k).
Again, thats 2nd hand and Honda's CVT has some known probs too. Bear in
mind those cars are already over their warranty period and replacing the
CVT can be a bomb.

Book a Swift now, its at 78k now, plus its CBU. Or you can wait later for
the CKDs and hope that the built quality is the same.

Just my 2 cents...

The Smart ForFour 1.5 is around 80+k. Check out with the dealers.

Also, the Swift Sport is already available for test drive at Mofaz I think
but I have no idea about the wait list... Big Smile

I found out from another forum that pre-registered 2005 SmartForFours are
going for RM75,000.00.
