i checked in manual/ service book guide, it says that 1st svice is 10k..u know wat?this is actually
the quality suzuki offers..glad to hear this!.

My service booklet says 1st service at 1K not 10K, or 1 month. A note at the bottom says warranty voids if exceed 2K or 2 months. SC will not complaint and service the car at 1K or 10K, they claim labor for 3services from Suzuki. The problem will arise when want to make a warranty claim. Suzuki (M) will now say warranty void as schedule not followed.

For CBU models (and CKD until about April 2008 I think), the 1st service is specified at 10k (or 6 months).

In 6 months I will have finished all 3 of the free service. The free service in my manual is for 1st,3rd and 6th month. I have no choice but to comply or the warranty voids! I guess the service manager woke up in April and found a way to make more money. Goes to show the way business is conducted in Bolehland, squeeze the rakyat, make more money!

Yea, i agree with you. Well, for the service, i mean after the 3rd service, you can just stick to 5k km service interval for mineral engine oil, 10k km service interval for fully synthetic engine oil. Blow/clean the air filter more often if you always drive in dusty area. Actually there's a recommended service manual for swift on suzuki website malaysia. You can go and check it out.

I have no doubt the CBUs will have very little or no QC issues. I find the CKDs are very good too,it`s only the local content that I`m concrened with. Would like to hear from CKD owners if they had any problems. If I do not face any QC issues by year and a half, I will quit the SC. Service the car with my regular mechanic and use fully syn oil. SCs seem to be ripoffs!

The point is, price of the car is factored with warranty. Breaking warranty after 6 months is a waste. At the same time, don`t feel right continuing with warranty for 3 years, especially since I know the shoddy work SCs do. I have also heard ppl having problems with warranty claims. When I feel confidant with the serviceability of the car, I will then decide not to bother with warranty. I certainly don`t want to pay top dollar for shoddy work!

hi..good to say something again in here..just want to share how fun i drove Sswift to kuala trenganu from alo star. driving in grik-jeli hiway was something i keep as my dream since owning a good car. then, Gong X Fa Chai came and give me a long holiday. i took the chance to feel how tough that roadway. first 30km expression; actually it is not tough enough compared to k.kinabalu city - kundasang hiway n sabah which s a place i love to drive. grik-jeli has good road design, safe corner and max 10 degree slope which is not too hard. and when swift going thru all this, i pushed down the throttle and feel its easy to drive. didn't realize 140 km/h when overtaking in straight way on top of hill..corner confidentially made over 110 km/h. sometime manually control down the gear D to 3 to overtake, corner and to slowing the car. just like drive the manual transmission car..fuel consumption from alor star to kuala terengganu drunk less rm60 took about over 500km distance. my FC average read 16.++ km/L using V-Power..from kota bharu stop at rnr titiwangsa to get home- i did in 1h.30mnute. ok la for 10.p.m. driving uphill, behind me was a gen2 or persona (i think) which can't catch me up..hehe. well..swift 1.5 also campion maa..ok la.happy to share this..btw, i saw many swift in K.Trengganu with various style. some done over make-up, some converted to sport as many swifter did, put smart/sport rim 17" which s look ganas!.and wat important thing was so many eyes keep looking on my swift. my thinking was tganu peoples rarely met kedah's swift plat nmber n their city..haha.k bye..

my swift now clocked 34k milage and 4th service would b sooner. i sent my swift 10k for the 1st service and until now i have no doubt about quality of swift. 1st and 2nd in sc butterworth then 3rd in sc alor star. in schedule, my 4th service spposed to be 40k milage and i think ther s a good reason which i also dont know how good it is, i should go early before beyond the schedule..

The Swift is a very well built car. No problem if you stick to service schedule, early than schedule is also ok. You are lucky at 34K, all free service. Mine CKD model, 3 service must be done by 10K, all free service finish. After that got to pay, this is where the SCs ripoff. No choice, I`ve got to follow their schedule to keep warranty valid!
