Dear All,
One shop offered me this scoot at around RM6,200.00. Current mileage at
55,459km and Yr 1997.
With this basic info, is it wort buying. I reckon the value is slightly low
compared to the market price. I am a long time customer to this shop and
that's why they offered me with this price.
Appreciate your view & comments.

azharazlin
mine is yr 1998, mileage 33500 miles/53000 km
i bought brand new in 1998
since then i experienced some major repair/maintainence work on this
scooter. major overhaul in 2002 - cost me 2000+ change nearly everything
inside the engine - done at yamaha factory sungai buloh
accident in 2002 - insurance coverage
change v belt - at 11000, 22000 miles and last week at 33000 miles cost
rm340
many others - battery, better use local rm150, original is rm500
tyre - continental, fkr, duro, pirelli - range from 80 to 150
the recommended mileage to change the belt is every 11000 miles/17000 km
although the maintainenece is quite high, it's worth it, i love to ride
it, it's the best scooter around in malaysia, no model can challenge
majesty eventhough modenas elegan is trying to copy it (no offence)
i think the price is a good deal but better you check on the performance
of the engine and transmission for wear and tear because it will cost you
if you ignore this aspect. if there are service history of the bike you'll
feel better.
remember that the speedometer is in miles not km
recommended service mileage is every 2000 miles/3200 km
normal service needs 2 bottle of vsx shell engine oil, other parts
(transmission oil, plug, air filter cleaned - check
n change if necessary
i feel safer to service it/repair it at yamaha factory in sungai buloh
although i live in kajang because the mechanics knowledge and expertise
are better and the parts are original
tq

Thanks faedzal for your info sharing on the Yamaha Majesty.
Regret to inform that I've decided not to further proceed to buy this scoot
as I heard few feedbacks from friends & relatives and even from the same
mechanic (ex-majesty mechanic) which our forummer 'rasfan' sent his sccot
for service at Ukay Perdana. Almost all will give me the same answer, "VERY
nice to ride on but painfull on the maintenance side".
Appreciate your comment anyway.
cheers,

Hi guys, azhar espacially .... nice meeting you and sorry for rushing to
get the spares.
Have my bike service and maintain today, everything was carry by my trusty
machanic in Ukay perdana.
Yes after almost 5 years and 2100 Miles (exectly), I just have the belt,
pulley (front), fliter and spark plug change.
I get all the spares form a shop in sentul and the cost for each spare are
as follows:
1. Air filter small - 36.00
2. Belt - 195.00 ( not ori but the japan made, Ori cost rm320 but need to
wait for them to get somewhere? Look very similiar with the ori but have
no idea about the quality)
3. front Pulley - 294.00 (Not neccacary to change)
4. Front Fan pulley - 145.00 (Not neccacary to change)
5. Spark plug - 8.50
6. oils - 31.00 (Motul)
The best thing - the machanic just charge me RM45.00 for the wormanship.

Hi Rasfan,
Yepp...nice meeting you too and I was so lucky to spot you in the shop coz
I about to ask your number in the forum.
Well....the price of parts which you changes yesterday quite scary but
considering that this is the normal wear & tear for a period of 5 years, i
think this is acceptable for a reliable & good scooter like Majesty.
Okay...I'll call you if anything in doubt.

Hello Majesty owners,
I am looking for a scooter for daily use. About 80km/day and 5 days a week.
(Tak sanggup nak bayar harga petrol yg makin meningkat)
Majesty seems to be within my small budget.
Noted some respectable Majesty experts on line. So far everyone seems to like their scooter a lot.
Tapi betul ke milage Rasfan is only 2100 miles after 5 years? Bukan 21,000 miles?
Any comments on Elegan, X9 and Aprillia Atlantic?
I hope to be an owner of a good and reliable scooter soon.

Hi DU52 .... Sorry for late reply, was not here for quite sometime.
Yes ... those 2100 was miss type .... you are correct, it was 21,000
actually. I'm not following the normal service schedule but keep checking
the condition in every 2 oil change.
I cannot give any comments on other scooters as I do not have the
knowledge. However, my comments on majesty :
FC : 17 - 19 Miles/litre @ 25 - 28 Km/l (I believe this FC is batter than
Elegan)
Tyre ware :
- rear at around 3 to 5000 miles @ Cost 80 - 180 RM (easily avialiable)
- front at around 5 to 8000 miles @ cost 170 - 240 RM (quite hard to
source)
For the moment I ride this scooter from Kl to PD at least twice a week,
maintain at 140 on the highwas is no hastle, just keep observe the
temperature gauge.
Riding Confort ... as good as driving a convertable car !!
