Lots of bike look like Hurricane (Nova S). Some are from different range
of family (Example Tena, Dash, Nice and more..) Open type kapchai is very
popular in Thailand. So envy with the bike available there really..

Wow!! great page. Thanks neo2000. I have tried my friend NSR150 Sp and
real damm fast. Even my bike that time Laverda 650 Diamente hard to catch
and take time to overtake.

Haa... waitlah, come AFTA all the grey importers will be making a
killing. Why bother with Boon Siew when they can grab some of those cool
stuff from Thailand?
Boon Siew Honda will die standing!!
Honda CBR150, anyone?

Wanna bet?
Boon Siew not like Proton, my friend. They are much more pro-active.
actually when they brought out the Dream they intended to RAISE the price,
not lower it. But due to competition, they lowered it by over 1 grand.
Smart move. Look at the sales of Dreams today. Kris suffer, Yamaha suffer.
Suzuki RG practically out of the running.
Now they bring in Wave priced RM100 cheaper still.
Compare with Comel & other made-in-China bikes. These don't sell despite
being much cheaper than Honda.
If need be, I believe Boon Siew will lowwer prices EVEN FURTHER just to
retain market share. If Thailand can do it at reasonable profit, so can
Boon Siew. Better retain market share with lower profits and still
maintain long-term customer support, than lose it altogether by refusing
to lower prices.

Well Boon Siew`s price-fighting ability probably won`t stand up to the
sheer variety of Thailand`s bike market.
Discount, can discountlah all they want... but remember that after Comel`s
entry, kapcai prices are scraping the bottom of the barrel already..
leaving not much room to maneuver to fight a price war post AFTA. But even
with a RM500 difference (considered massive in the rock-bottom kapcai
market), would you choose the same-old EX5 or a newer, sportier, never
seen before Honda cub from Thailand?
Bear in mind that Thailand`s sexy non-kapcai offerings will also help
shrink Boon Siew`s kapcai market here. NSR-SP with the single-sided
swingarm, gorgeous CBR150 etc. Should be relatively cheap, too with the
smaller tax. A lot of choice-deprived riders out there will be desperately
flogging their kapcais for one of these, for sure!
If Boon Siew is smart... instead of fighting grey importers (sure lose
one), they`ll import Honda Thai bikes officially.
No longer will Malaysians have to put up with the same boring kapcai. Or
two-wheeled junk from China - come AFTA, it`ll be curtains for the likes
of Comel & Nitro! Good riddance!
But Modenas? They`ll be stuck. At least Boon Siew has a way out by
officially tapping into Thailand`s models. Modenas must evolve. Fast!
I can`t wait! Mannnn, that CBR150 would make a damn fine commuter bike...
