Hi there...if you're looking to get a nitro rc car to begin with, you're
looking at the rigt area - that is shafties. Shaft driven cars has a
simple drive train, and maintenence wise, it would be very user friendly.
I started off with the NTC3, and had just jumped over to belt cars a
month ago. I would say...3 years of experience with shaft car, and I
still found the shift to belt drivetrain quite a challenge.
Not trying to bash off other brands, but if you wanna get good rc cars
nowadays, it would be of these brands ONLY - AE (NTC3-shaft), Mugen(MTX3,
MTX4-belt), Serpent(710-belt), Kyosho(V-One-RRR-belt, FW05-shaft). All
these are what we rc enthusiasts are currently running, and hence ensured
of the parts support.
Price being the factor, a second hand car is good to fetch and start off.
Look through the rctech forums for any good deal. I'm still having my
NTC3 with me, let me know if you are interested, I can sell it off at a
good price.
