Hi guys, need some advice. Involved in electric buggy R/C about 12 yrs
ago. Now going back into the hobby, but thinking of going for nitro. I'm
from JB, so any johorean out there care to give some advice? Anyway, need
some friends too so can exchange opinion about Nitro RC. Question :-

1. Which car? TT TS4n, Kyosho V1R, TC3, etc.
2. Who's the dealer in JB for TT/Kyosho/TC3/Tamiya/HPI? Contacts pls.
3. Where do you guys race/play? And what about competition?

If anyone can shed some light in these things, or wants to hang out
sometime for R/C talk or stuffs(in JB lar), contact me thru email ok.

for the dealers for R/C hobby shop in JB?

My friend, in any cases live or death pls don't buy TS4N, you will regret
for your whole life if u get those moron's car. Avoid for the brand Ho Boa
(ofna) and GS racing as well.
You hv a varius good choice out there like, Kyosho V1RR, Serpent 705,
Mugen, Trinity- reflex NT, Yokomo GT4 and TC3 but, better go for the most
popular car at your local track and which most easy get spare from your
Local Hobby Shop(LHS). I think JB ppl mostly goes for Kyosho V1RR and if
not mistaken u can easy get those from Nikko Cheng or direct from
singapore. Sorry I lost nikko Cheng's number but u can get it from ppl at
track.
Get the pro car and don't get those RTR set. Make friend as many as u can
at your local track and get their tip and trick especially for engine
tuning and car set-up. good luck.

I've talk with a few local r/c players, and they have given me help in
finding reputable dealers here in JB. Just for the record and for those
newcomer in Johor Bahru who is trying to get into this hobby, here's the
list:-

AJ Racing - Pusat Bandar Pasir Gudang - Contact Abd. Malik/ Zaidi 07-
2525020

Niko Hobby - Plaza Angsana - Contact Ah Meng 07-2343615

Giant R/C - Giant Hypermarket Plentong - Contact Ayob/Anuar/Enal 019-
7216788

The Hobby Center - Plaza Pelangi - Contact Asrar/Tay 07-3315333

This is just a few that i've been able to find and visit. I'm sure
there's a few more. Anyone else want to add to the list?

Ok, looks like the Kyosho's have a very good followers here, many are
driving them. There are also TT, GS and others. Right now, i think the
Kyosho are a really good choice mainly because most shop here stock the
parts. I'll do more research for the mean time. I think the Reflex NT is
also good because the parts are interchangeable with Kyosho right?

yap trinity is a good car also, I have both of em..kyosho and trinity.
Both of em are same in lay out and set up and hv it own advantages and
disadvantages.
Kyosho is more reliable especially the plastic part like arm, nuckle etc
but trinity come with all hop up installed(more cheapper), it is like a
V1R with K factory hop up part..save a lot. The tank also good with lower
CG.
Compare the price first and go either one..

P/S: or may be u can consider a new release of kyosho..it is a newer
version of V1RR..my fren just bought one but I forgot what name of this
car but just similar to V1RR...

You mean Kyosho has come up with a newer car other than the V One RR? Or
is it a new version of the V One RR?

I've checked their sites, they got V One S, V One R which is similar to
the Reflex NT except for Hop up and the V One RR (Kit.

One thing for sure, i'm really going to take my own sweet time making up
my mind about which car to buy. There's a race tomorrow (25/5) at Pasir
Gudang here and i'm going to see which car wins so i can consider it.

Please keep me updated about the new Kyosho car, Thanks

Be careful not to make up your mind on which car to buy base upon which
car wins in the race. All cars listed are able cars and they can perform
to the highest level in the correct hands. In most cases, it is the
transmitter end that determines if a particular car wins.

wat initiald said is rite. give an unpopular car to an experienced driver,
with the correct settings he can do well if not better than a guy with
less expereince with a popular car. i would say all cars are competitve,
maybe one or two really gone case one. e.g. cars which cannot do alignment
like toe in/out

also remember the spares factor, take note of the shop opening hours,
location from your house, etc. it is the most important thing aside from
not getting a totally junk car
