Hi, I would be really grateful if anybody out there has experience of
this problem and its resolution: A few weeks after buying my Persona HL I
noticed a sound like metal on metal - i suspect the brake's disk - when
cornering left. It comes from driver front side. The service centre in
Mutiara Damansara can't fix it and assure me the brake system vendor will
contact me re. resolution. I just would like an independent input.
Thanks
David
(PS: has anybody got a response from the icare email address given on
Proton's web-page. I sent three and got no response. Guess they dont
care!).
PPS: apart from this problem, the horrendus fuel consumption and Proton
not responding to customers, its actually quite a good car - comfy seats,
value for money, big practial shaped boot, smooth ride, good looks.....

Does the noise comes only when you are turning left?

david, proton should treat problems with brakes seriously as this problem
is saftey-related.

why dont u call i-care directly? toll free rite? i had written to i-care,
and they did respon. not immediately, but the rate was fast.

David,

Yes, please try to i-care direct...i-care belongs to HQ, so the SC will
be more scared, careful and serious when handle your complaint.

Hi, i'd just like to thank u all out there for helping each other & me
too!
I deliberately delayed my follow-up by 3000km to be sure that they really
have fixed it or not......

I took it to the Proton service centre at The Curve nr IKEA; they got in
the brake vendor to fix. Done. no problems now. Good service! happy
customer!

now if they could just fix the lack of low-end torque......

Since Persona IAFM is already launched...maybe Persona CamTakPro owners
can add the IAFM package.

David, could u describe the sound? I think I have similar problem. I onli
heard it twice since I drove it for about 4 days. Difficult to 'recreate'
the sound, so I can't get the fix on why the sound emited.

I had similar problem 3 days after got my car. Got it fixed on my 1st
service. Mine was caused by the metal layer (not sure what it was actually
called) was rubbing with my disc brake. The metal is thin plate looks like
covering the disc.
