actually their biggest mistake is not killing off wira. so many wira
replacements came and gone. Waja came, they kill off wira 1.6, but
maintain wira 1.5 and 1.3. Gen2 the biggest WRM hype repalcement model
for wira came..... but wira still lives on. So many critics saying that
after 15 years proton still selling us the age old wira. So....
finally ... they replaced the wira with its better know UK name of
Persona.
Yes I would agree that they have made big marketing blunders. Not even
mentioning the blunders with tiara, juara, arena and savvy. As I said in
another thread, they should have developed a sedan together with the gen2
hatch. Kill off wira and introduce the true WRM.
So now they are in a cache 22 situation, kill off wira with the sedan
version of gen2 ... but by doing so they are eating into Waja and Gen2
market. What they should have done is repackage the gen2 with the same
improvements as persona. Kill off gen2 and call it persona aeroback.
Launch together with persona sedan. As for Waja... well if they don't
move it up to 1.8 segment and clad it with more safety features like abs
ebd and dua airbags. It's going to die a natural death without a new
model... waja2... or something like that. It's been around for too long
and the recent facelift is totally ugly with the thermometer looking rear
lights and the super ugly new chromed grill. Tasteless...

Yo...Waja MC3 with CPS will be introduced anytime soon to break away from
persona. Anyway its much more spacious then Persona & luxuriuos feel.
What r guys talking it will kill Waja off with Persona etc.
BTW, Gen 2 car is good design car but due to managment of ex-mahathir it
has many set back, poor quality, space etc....it simply stop potential
buyer from buying it. For remedy the new managment rectify & upgraded the
quality as with imporvisation , thus eventually capture potential owner
of Gen 2 & Wira who eventually impressed with the rectified problams. It
also impressed other Sedan car lover since its affordable. It also touch
the mid income eraner budget. Moreover its way better than teh PUNY SIZE
& OVERPRICED car which is best used by Auntie & Students small enuff to
fit in.
Smart as they are..lowered the production cost & design, improvised the
old model. New design doesnt guarntee good sales..

Well whatever it is, I would say that Proton's bad quality is partly due to
the workers attitude, we are famous for our " Tidapa" attitude, no
commitment, no passion, we tend to take everything easily.
One of my friend who is a sales engineer selling some glue related robotic
machine to Proton use to tell that Proton office is opened only for 4 and a
half day so how can we have a big overall improvement.
We are even lazy to create our own proton logo, we copy/pinjam from 1980s
Thundercat cartoon's logo.
Just my 0.000002 cents

Lets wait and see if plotong can stop bleeding red ink by the next Q with
their fire sales of the saga & now the pesona, or the cannibalizing of
sales from the other models not gonna bring ennuf profit for plotong to
survive.

And I yet to find a car wallpaper download website with Proton models, I
wonder why
