"Mohamad Azeman said the benchmark set for cars produced at the plant is
two defects per car. “This will ensure that customers get a Proton car of
world-class build and quality,” he added.
In comparison, Japan’s Toyota Motor Co — the world’s second largest
carmaker by volume — has one defect for each car produced."
I believe Toyota has achieved down to one defect for each car produced
because it has set its own benchmark at zero defect per car. That should
be the real approach towards making cars of real world class build
quality, instead of just settling for a 2 defects per car benchmark.
