Setting this up in the light of sharing for owners and prospect owners. In
the service booklet provided, there are further details of the servicing
frequency and detailed items.

First service is not really to service your car but more of a first
inspection service. This happens when your car reaches 2,500km or 3 months,
whichever comes first. This wont happen to me for perhaps another 2 to 3
months.

First Inspection Service (2,500km or 3 months) - listed free in the voucher
-----------------------------------------------

To Top Up:
- engine oil (1st litre is free of charge)
- engine coolant
- front/rear screen-wash and headlamp was fluid
- brake fluid
- power steering fluid

Check:
- condition of rubber boots and gaiters
- condition and pressure of tyres including spare
- operation of lights and indicators
- emission control and adjustments according to local legislation
- smoke opacity

Warranty Inspection (First Service) at 10,000km or 6 months (change of
engine oil and oil filter. Replace other parts if necessary. Owner charged
for fluids, oil and parts replaced.

Then there's just a page for servicing every 10,000km or 6 months but
doesn't list what needs to be serviced/changed at each interval. I'd
presume at this point of time there are specific work required for each of
the interval, minor or major.

So for those having gone through the 2,500km inspection, 10,000km servicing
and so on in time, perhaps you might want to share the items done and cost
wise.

hyfim,

For for 206 CKD, the first inspection (2,5000KM or 3 Months) is VERY
important. It's said to "ACTIVATE" your warranty. It's a big catch and many
were not informed. I'm not sure about the 407 CKD, but please double-triple
check with different salesman.

As for the service schedule, the ORIGINAL schedule for tropical climate
countries or what Peugeot called "Arduous" condition:
1. Every 10,000KM Or 6 months, whichever comes first (Inspection)
* Engine Oil Level Check & Top-up As Necessary (Replacement upon request)
2. Every 20,000KM Or 1 Year, whichever comes first (Service)

The MAJOR service is every 60,000KM.

If you have the ORIGINAL Peugeot handbook or manual, you'll see ALL the
above information I stated very detailed, they even include what they
should check and replace during each interval up to 100,000KM (I think)

I'm not sure the 407 CKD handbook is the same as the CBU 407 handbook, or
is it the Naza version like the 206 CKD.

Anyway, for the service interval, there is a service countdown counter
feature built-in the car. It's NOT a FIXED countdown, it's variable or
intelligent count-down counter (just like those in BMW); So, depending on
how many start-and-stop you make, condition, etc. It may counter much
faster than others.
For mine, it countdown much faster (about 1K faster every 5K), so if follow
this schedule, I would need to service by 15,000KM. (But then again, for my
1st year, I didn't hit 15,000KM, only about 13,000++KM during my first service)

------------

All that aside, I'm not sure what service interval Naza has specified for
the 407 CKD. If their SERVICE BOOKLET stated "service" for every 10,000KM,
then you guys have no choice to service every 10,000KM. If true, then Naza
has just destroy one BIG advantage or privilegede owning a Peugeot, and I
can say here is, IF TRUE, they have been learning from the others, which
is, "EARN THROUGH SERVICE", sell the car cheaper, force you to service more
often.

If they really specify every 10,000KM.... then they have to do something to
the service interval.

Do double-triple confirm on the service interval set by Naza and let us
know...
If really 10,000KM, that's a BIG disappointment.

Btw, can you double confirm about the Engine Oil? From the 407 CKD thread,
someone mentioned they will have option for Mobil 1 and Total? As far as I
know, Glenmarie only uses Petronas (due to some contract or something) and
they don't even allow us to bring our own oil or special request to
purchase from them.

FYI, the price of Petronas Synthium (Fully Synthethic) and Total Quarts
9000 (Fully Synthethic) is almost the same.

Andy,

The first inspection at 2,500km or time is warranted to 'activate' the
warranty. Its clearly stated in the condition page. So one cant ignore
that. Nope, nothing in the handbook that talks about the servicing interval
or the breakdown. Its only shown as schedule in the service booklet. It is
every 10,000km but it doesnt specify the 'type of service' though and no
other detail provided. So its a catch here like you said, will it be
inspection or true service at each 10k interval(?).

The actual first service at 10,000km - labour is free. Thats all I can dig
out. It is stated as extended service intervals at 10,000km or 6 months -
no two ways about it. So you maybe right there its now cut down to 10k km
interval instead of 20k km. Also doesnt say what oil they are using or
specific to service centres. Hmmm .. I could have sworn my service
countdown showed another 19,800km more to go. Somehow the vehicle's counter
doesnt quite map out with the service booklet intervals.

I'll try to get some answers from some trusted sources hopefully.

Hi guys...
just for your info, I've been servicing my 407 for every 10,000km for the
past 3 and a half years, infact almost 4 years. The service handbook does
have every 10,000km interval too. Anyway, it's up to you guys because we
are not in Europe , Asia weather may not be as cooling as there.
Yes ..the service indicator in the car LCD will still show the balance to
service deducting the 20,000km........rgds

ray101,

In Europe, the "ACTUAL" service interval is 30,000KM (20,000 MILES) or 2 years.
You have the original 407 CBU handbook? You can see the full details there.
For special condition (tropical climate and/or frequent stop-and-go
traffic), Peugeot adjust/advice the service interval to 20,000KM or 1 year.
In the handbook, it's written there as "Arduous" condition.
For Australia, they're also following the 20,000KM or 1 year service
interval. Our car itself, the service countdown counter has already
adjusted to 20,000KM; if it were 10,000KM, Peugeot would already adjusted
the service countdown counter for us.

There're owners which service every 10,000KM while some every 15,000KM
while some every 20,000KM. Just to let inform that, for continentals, it's
not unusual to have service interval of more than 10,000KM.
Even the Proton Savvy which uses Renault engine has 15,000KM service
interval, the VW has 15,000KM service interval, and so on.

For every 10,000KM inspection, it's ENGINE OIL-TOP UP as necessary;
Engine Oil change is upon request.

But anyway, most important is follow the "SERVICE BOOKLET" cause it's the
interval specified by Nasim in order for us to keep the WARRANTY.
If they really change it to every 10,000KM, it'll be really dissapointing
and really destroys one major priviledge of Peugeot compared to the others.

If your CKD handbook doesn't have the service interval schedule, you can
also refer here:

hyfim,

Bluebox Glenmarie only sells Petronas Engine Oil (when I ask, they say
something about contract or something), and they don't allow us to bring
our own engine oil. I just don't understand, can't they at least allow us
to special request and they provide it?

Esso and Total is the recommended lubricant for Peugeot cars. Pop up your
bonnet you'll see Total brand sticker, for CBU, you'll see Esso and Total.
Of course, you can always go for different brand.

Btw, Peugeot engine after year 2000 (I think) cannot use Mineral Oil (it's
stated clearly in the PDF I provided in my previous post (also in the CBU
handbook I have).
And also another information some didn't know, there're certain engine oil
specification cannot be used for certain engines; the EW10J4s (used on the
206 GTi180) can only use Fully-Synthethic engine oil; not sure why. It's
stated in the PDF and also the CBU handbook.

Hi,

I used CBU 407 and service every 10k as advised by KS. To share the latest
price by KS;
1. Engine oil Mobil (fully synthethic4 litre (RM217.50), 1 litre (RM55.50)
2. Oil filter RM46.30
3. Washer RM5.70
4. Air Filter RM85.86
5. Rear Brake Pad RM258.93
6. Wiper RM139.50/pcs (they told me RM133, write on box also RM133 but when
I check the bill (at home) RM139 - rugi RM6/pcs)
7. Labor cost RM110.00

The price after discount 10% and they did't accept Peugeot Privilege or
Peugeot Club Malaysia for the additional discount. They told me that card
only valid at Nasim.

/bye

Hi..
as I know ,I was recommended to service every 10,000km...even though it's
supposed to be every 20,000km. Well ,no harm for me...sometime a little
bit extra km too. Just want to make sure the car is always in good
condition with frequent check up and oil change too.Smile

ray101,

Yea, there's no harm service earlier, it's better if one's willing to
anyway Smile
Just trying to provide more accurate information; cause many people are
just giving assumption as answer (I mean, the person who tell you).
Usually workshops could be because they want to earn or they ownself feel
or most probably because they think in Europe is 20,000KM.
When I first told my friend about 20,000KM, their first reaction was also
shock, and then tell me, "Bro, this is Malaysia la. Where can service
20,000KM? 10,000KM more logic la, maybe the 20,000KM is for other country
one."

My first tought is, would car manufacturer's be so dumb to not adjust it?
Then I also start wondering about other makes like VW and also the Proton
Savvy Renault engine. So I did a search around and found those
information; actually, the handbook itself already have the information.

Anyway, you'll be more surprise there few old old Protons which service
every 15,000KM on Mineral or Semi-Synthethic! I'm not sure HOW TRUE, but
it's what those Proton's owner mentioned lah.
