I've got a broken dipstick in my 206. The yellow bit that measures the oil
has broken off and is inside the dipstick tube.

Will this cause a problem to the engine?

SilverBullet,

it is common knowledge that the dipstick end disintegrates due to the
engine heat. the small bit that has gone down the dipstick will
eventually melt and dissolve into the engine oil. this is no cause for
panic.

as for the dipstick itself, you'd either need to

1. change it on a regular basis
2. get your current dipstick a nylon top. this is done in some foundries
3. get the rubber end covered in wiring shrink wrap (black in colour)
