I am not sure whether this topic had been covered before, but I read a
very interesting article about this oil treatment. Some time ago,
somebody drove his car from Johor Bahru to Bukit Kayu Hitam covering
848km without any engine oil, but after "treating" his car to Bardahl.
They put the oil in the engine compartment and drained it later. The car
was driven literally without engine oil, or so they said.

Is this yet another case of a snake oil?

old story. read the back of the oil treatment.. "Bardahl do not recommend
driving a car without engine oil".. or something like that. Refer to the
URL below for snake oil. Believe Bardahl is a detergent...

Few years ago, AAM conducted a testing on Bardhal whereby a car is driven
around Peninsula Msia without any engine and driven at moderate speed.
Anyone remember this?

I have been using Bardhal since the first day I started driving....cheap
and good.

Just like few months ago, my car's oil sump leaked and I didn't realise
about it until i popped open the hood and do my regular weekend check. I
was shocked when i discovered that my car has been running with engine oil
at the extreme minimal level, can be considered without engine oil.
Surprisingly that nothing "dramatic" happened to the engine and the piston
rings....the only thing i can felt is that the engine was sluggish and
slightly noisy. I'm not sure whether the Bardhal I have been using saved
me few thousands of ringgit.

I normally used Bardahl Engine treatment on my Integra....about Rm12
only...

I never use Bardahl Oil treatment because engine oil is enough already
and somemore keep changing the oil every 5K.......

mroctopus,

I am sure that like all other manufacturers, Bardahl does not intend for
its Engine oil treatment to be used as a substitute for engine oil. But
the test shows the effectiveness of Bardahl, that the vehicle could run
for 848km without causing permanent engine damage, after being treated
with the oil treatment.

Now, the question is whether the test actually took place, and if so,
where could I get a report of the test. If it was conducted by AAM, I am
sure that it is an independent testing worth looking into....

If I remember correctly, YK Khong was the one who drove that car in the
Bardahl no-oil run. Maybe Ivan Khong can shed some light here...

All,

Yes, Esky. YS did 1 run quite a few years back. I did 1 run 1-2 years
before YS. All runs were witnessed by AAM. Bonnet was sealed by AAM. AAM
guy (Razak, still remember you) was with car at all times.

We maintained a speed of 110-120kph at all times, even reved the engine to
redline on the Proton Wira. I would not have believed it if I did not
drive the car myself, as I am the world's greatest sceptic when it comes
to engine treatment/additive oils, power enhancement devices and fuel
saving devices.

2 words on Bardahl, IT WORKS!

Esky,

Yes. Roil is better. Only 3 things work as they claim, and they are
Bardahl, Roil and Afterburn.
