ON Sunday 11 May 2003 I clocked 26,644km travelled.

I had sound coming from front when slowing and braking the car.
My car is AT 3-speed.

Normal mechanic shop in Permas Jaya, JB...

I changed

Mintye Disk Pads RM50 one pair for front disk brake.
He said original brake pad of Proton is PBR from Taiwan and not good cause
it makes the DISC kasar and scratches. It was true indeed.
He changed to MINTYE made in Malaysia.

My question: 1) Has anyone tried this pad and is it reasonable for RM50 ?

Now,

I changed my ATF using petronas

ATF-D RM11 from petronas mymesra shop
This white bottle 1 Litre has marks like this:
- GM Dexron II
- GM ATF Type A Suffix A
-Catterpillar TO-2

My questions:

2) Is this brand recommended ?
3) How to check the ATF.
4) When checking ATF , gear must be in 'N' or 'P'?

The mechanic said must check while the engine is started:
Later on , He got confused.

While engine is ON , he took out the dipstick , it shows oil full up to
the holder .
While engine is OFF, dipstick shows oil level until the HOT line.

Dipstick is like this

Cold | Hot | Adjust .....| (white holder)

Now the mechanic said he pour 3.1 litres of the ATF.
He said let it be up to HOT line.

I did NOT change any filter , only the oil.

So how to check the ATF?

p/s:Our manual is the lousiet guide and reference...pls do not see the
manual.

Thanks for the help.
So I have 4 questions ...I am travelling to Ipoh this Wesak day. Got 4
days for holiday.

The car is parked and not used till Wesak day. I am using my bike.

I am afraid of the ATF where the gearbox will breakdown on highway.....

Cheers.
Sorry for any trouble....
