Comparo for Myvi vs Wira 1.3/1.5A Sedan

Myvi 1.3EZi Wira 1.3/1.5A

Outer Size:
Length 3720 4360
Width 1665 1680
Height 1550 1385
Wheel Base 2440 2500
Track Front 1455 1450
Track Rear 1465 1460

Interior Size:
Length 1835 1825
Width 1400 1400
Height 1270 1160

Weight: 965 970/1000
Displacement: 1298 1299/1468
Max Output: 64/6000 55/6000 66/6000
Kw/Rpm
Max Torque: 116/3200 108/4000 126/3000
Nm/Rpm

Pretty impressive that the Myvi's engine is as powerful as Wira's 1.5
only Wira's low end torque is higher but displaced by the weight so Myvi
& the Wira 1.5 can drag it out at the traffic lights! Also Interior size
similar except Myvi has better head clearance.

* this is my testdrive report in myviclub

My testdrive report:

In my humble opinion, the smartest thing about this car is
the reverse sensor. Why? They put the warning buzzer in front,
enclosed inside the dashboard, beeping from the side mirror controls ;
not traditionally, at the back where the beeps are faint and unassuring.
I find this really useful and utlimately,
smart.

Rear windhsield wash/wipe controls are integrated to the front windshield
wash/wipe stalk. Unlike previous Perodua models, there would be a seperate
switch and its troublesome to switch it on/off. Good ergonomics.

For those who are used to an auto gearbox, you'll find this hard at first.
I'm talking about the auto shift lever. Most Jap and Malaysian cars have
the shift lever button on the right, but this one is in front of the shift
lever.
You will need some time to get used to it. Coz i found it a little bit odd
to shift from R to D and D to R Its a bit uncomfortable. Was used to shifting
using the right button. Just plain egonomics,I will just have to get used
to it.
I know i will. Its like a Nokia phone user getting used to a Motorola phone.
Get me?

Audio system is designed for those who, erm, basically want to listen to
some music, theres a bass, loud, clear, and 'manu' ( i suppose its manual )
settings. Nothing near performance or extraodinary.
The sound is alright for a car in this price range. Frankly speaking,
sounds are just adequate but i see a huge room for improvement, like
upgrading thespeakers. Head unit is very simple, giving that spartan,
minimalist look.
Very basic.

Good news is i've seen the Jap. spec Boon, and one in one of their low spec
model,
they offered no Radio/Cassette/ or even a CD player. Just two blank
standard DIN slots.

So hey i'm just guessing that the chopshops might have the
HU dash cover with blank 2DIN slots in the future.
That would be great for HU upgrades.

The cabin is quiet. I'm quite suprised.
Air cond blower noise has been cutdown so much, you would have to set the
fan speed to 4 if you want some noise. Personally, i think fan setting
number 1 already cooled down the whole cabin.
This is at night, but i wonder how would it
be during the afternoon. I'm guessing it should be quite OK.

The rear brake lamps are so bright! I could see the reflection of
the lights on the car at the back. The response time is also quite fast,
not surprised - the wonders of LED.
This is good for safety.

Engine is ... exhilirating... pick-up is like..." go-go-go-go-go-go ", i
t begs you to step on it some more. Brakes are good, very good 'grip'.
Stops pretty well.

Turning radius on this car is FANTASTIC. You could park into
tight spots and make u-turns so easily! The turning radius reminds
me of my kembara. This is really usefull for city driving and also
parking into really tight spots. NICE!

Hood brace issue. The reason it made a dent on the hood
was because it was just too long. Hood brace metal was slightly longer.
Officials have told me they have replaced it on all new factory
roll-out myvis. So its just the show unit and those lucky fellas who
got their car really really early.

Spare tire removal cap is smart! No more nuts and bolts like before.

I have two complaints, just two...after all my observations,

1) Fabric
Gets dirty easily and feels really really cheap.
Materials can compare to those cheap kedai perabot fabric.
It would get dirty so quick.

2) Rear seat
The lower seat that can amazingly slide down...great!
But the hook, you guys noticed the hook adjoining the top & bottom seats?
The hook metal material is so cheap like it would come off after sometime.
And its downright ugly! Could have done better.

Perodua has done a great job, anyway.

Just my two cents. What you guys think?

signing off!

If the rear seat are fold down, the total bonet is bigger than Iswara. But
Myvi is smaller than Jazz by a few milimeter only....read the specs. But
outlook...Myvi look bigger than Jazz...maybe because of its color.
