Hi there,

I bought a gti bout 5 months ago. I come across one of the msg typed by
the forummers regarding the gti speed cut and siemens and mitsu chips.
This siemens and mitsubishi chips have been hot topic among the gti.

my gti is mid 2001 batch and i remember is still mitsubishi chip. but i
think i never able to run the car over 200kph. As claimed by the forummers
here, gti able to go over 210kph with mitsubishi chips. I tried it on KLIA
highway which is quite long straight road. the max i can get is.i
think...bout...190++kph.(after long hard pressing the accel padel) any
advice on this guys? how much can u go with your sGTI?

note: mine is standard gti only with k&n replacement filter.

besides that, any of the gti having problem with standard brake n
suspension givig this irritating sound?ngek ngek ngek..(sometimes)

For one thing check to ensure your throttle is 100% fully opened when you
mesh the pedal to the carpet. A lot of GTIs come with throttles that
cannot open fully. Some adjustment with the throttle cable should do the
trick.. I would expect a manual 4g93P to top out around 200-205km/h..

Rightly said Mr.Saw.. but then again there are ohter factors like wheel
alignment setting, tuning, bla bla bla bla...The time to hit 200km/h and
above is rather a yawn ...for stock and mini minor mod. Ah-ha! Maybe can
put in "AFTERBURNERS" eh? Mr.Saw?? Between at least 3 kuda kepangs
there..heheheBig Smile

Best upgrade your brakes (the pads especially..)and/or suspension first.
The highways and byways are sometimes a MAJOR scare..heard and seen too
many cases!

Wat?? Waja can only do 220km/h ah? My dad's can zoom to 230km/h!!!!! Stock
somemore!!!Wink

LLSaw,
AFTERBURN does work in stock cars. There are some dyno charts somewhere
which states a leap at certain RPM..anyway tried it on a stock 1.3 Satria
(half strength and after 1km "run-in")and the engine becomes more
responsive, due to more efficient fuel burn. Damn! Should have dynoed it..
rather than depending on the feel-good factor. Anyhow, compared to the
Japanese "afterburners" or "minyak lintah"..this is considered cost
effective laaa..

Of course with Big Cam or mivec or vtec or kotec or vvti-i or dvvt or XXX-
i,the power is even greater laa....

Fred,
Yup! But after sending in to PESC for my 3rd service & tuning..everything
go off tune laaa..only reach 180km/h and huff puff like gila then only
190km/h. Of course now even better laaa...
