Which part/s of R3 parts are tuned by Lotus?

Do you think if Lotus tuned any part of those 200 units of R3 the price
will be < RM80K?

I believe R3 is defunct SGTi .... with uprated shockie + spring. If R3 is
damn good, why don't they homologate the car for WRC so that Karamjit
doesn't need to drive an Evo with Proton emblem! Even Skoda pun pakai
kereta sendiri!

elan, what you belief is your right.
But for your info the R3 is not just a Gti with uprated shocks + spring.
Do some research, and when u have the facts, you can say "I know" and not
just "I belief"

"Vtec engine is develop from F1 tech & damn powerful."

The Honda F1 engine does not use VTEC. In most racing applications the
VTEC is disconnected and the engine runs on the high cam lobe profile
full time...

Blindly believing before understanding is a dangerous thing. But just keep
all the Pro-Anything-But-Proton zealots happy, ok I'll just say it for
you; VTEC wins. Hip-hip hooray. Now, don't bother sad Proton owners with
their lousy cars. Leave us to soak in our own misery.

aleebinmad,

The gen-2 R3 will most likely not hit proton showrooms.
Apparently proton motorsports are finding it hard to come out with a gen-
2 R3.

Reasons?
1. Too many parts to change, hence high price!! Will you buy a RM80k
gen-2 R3? Not many would. you mention about puting in a kick ass
engine? that will bring up the cost.

2. The gen-2 itself is not a stable platform to modify as yet.
Go check out gen-2 forums...most gen2s have wind noise after 100km/h.
power window issue and all.

To summarize..not economically viable from a financial point of view

Prozac, why get so worked up lah....
For some people ignorance is a bliss

But I think you should mention that the 7.33s century sprint u claim was
measured using the G-tech pro.

I have done my reaserch on R3 and that was my conclusion.
Some people find it hard to believe but it is just a marketing gimmick to
sell the un/sold SGTi.

BTW... ever wonder how Lotus got its name?

It is from the word... LOT U/S.
