stompmsp, the cams + piggyback will be great. But don't forget to tweak
your cam pulleys to go with the mods.

wah i forgot i made this post, now got almost 9 pages ah? heheheh thanks
for the feedback guys, and i just wanted to clear some air-
-i know the vtec engine makes more power, but i was just curios will the
weight of the r3 play a diff in a race?
-if an r3 dragged with a EG 1.6 vtec manual, can it keep up?
the r3 badge is a huge step for proton. in stock form (not sure bout stock
tires) proton claims the car can lap sepang in about 2.50, which is
roughly the time the modded civics lap sepang. (obviously the track spec
civic will go much, much faster).

Welcome back to the killing fields, ar145.
VTEC 1.6 has more power, R3 1.8 has more torque. Similarly, Wira 1.6 has
more power, Waja 1.6 has more torque. In factory claims, Waja is faster
than Wira in 0-100.
But it's not just about power and weight but also gear ratios. AFAIK, EG6
and MIVEC have shorter ratios thus making them quicker.
Even though I own an R3, I'd say a reasonably good VTEC driver with
proper tyres will smoke me anytime (unless he doesn't remove that 180km/h
speed cut)
