Actually, the earlier Wiras exported to England and several other countries are also called Persona, and they include the 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0D.

Hi DBass,
How do you find the SOHC performance wise? And how is your mileage? Modded or still
standard?

Hi DBass & verne,
I'm also driving Proton Persona 1.8 SOHC. Perfomance wise is quite
good, but I wife's ex-Proton Wira 1.8Exi performed much better than my
car.. I notice that my car got like 3 bottle on the exhaust pipe
itself. Dunno why that many...
I'm planning to get Recaro seats (front and back) for my car but
dunno where to get. Been looking all around but could not find any.
Maybe later I'll find one.

Hey joey,
I think performance wise, the SOHCs lose out to the DOHC on high-end, whereas in the
low-end the difference is slight. You'll see a DOHC pull away after 4th gear.
I'm planning a head conversion (DOHC here we come, yippeee!!) soon.
You can find 2nd hand Recaros from forums (for example: zerotohundred.com). I've seen a
couple of them advertised at the moment. Why don't you go check them out. Or if you have
contacts with kedai potong, maybe get an Evo III set (complete front and back) - probably
around RM1.5K, sometimes with door panels too!
Happy shopping!
