send my car to PSC, found out all 4 absorbers are worn, was advised to
change it, quoted RM 1100/= , i was told that i could get more value for
money if i get aftermart products which is just a few hundred away from
what was quoted from PSC. I was told to look into kayaba RS, is it worth
it ? suggestions needed. btw , i drive a gti. Thankz

Tang,
It's always a slaughter to go back to PESC. There're a coupla members who
got their original (kayaba) shockers from one outlet at Jln Ipoh. Heard
the cost's lesser than 1K.
The RS is a lowering shock (similar to r-tech) and u may have to change ur
springs to get the perfect match. Forget potong spring! And lowering
shocks despite better handling (and more garang look) due to lower centre
of gravity, is harder than oem shocks. And the cost of getting the shocks
and springs may be more than the adjustables (hi-low only). Might as well
get the adjustables. Recommended will be HWL, IMPROVE, TITAN, etc. Cost
may vary from RM1,300 onwards. The hi-low + soft-hard will set u back
about 3K. The plus thing about adjustables are:
1.Serviceable.And u may change the damping rate according to ur needs.
2.Firmer handling. Excellent for track days and Genting Highlands.
3.Can adjust maaa..
The down is on the hard side. Well win some lose some.
If u want more comfort, the stock shocks will do. Alternatively there's
KONI (RM1.4K)and u may need not change springs.

after much reading, i was thinking of koni shocks with my original
springs for the time being and later when budget allows me, i would
change my springs to eibach. What u guys think for this combi for a gti ?
i am not a hard core driver, just wants comfort....
1.heard that koni shocks does make the car look lowered ? by how much ?
2. where can i hunt for it and how much would i be expecting to fork out ?
guys.....thankz for all the info, its been a great help...

was told again there when you buy Koni set (together with springs), the
springs are OEM from Eibach . if it comes in a set how much would it
cost ? what if i get just the koni shocks ? possible ?

for a gti, eibach & standard would be just nice. not too hard, noit too
low. did that on my car once, the gti owners loved it so much that they
asked for it when they changed their shocks. priced less than 1.6k. with
the extra money, u can use it for a performance air filter:-)
