93 Mivec - Gear Cannot engage.

Mate i have a problem here and would like to get some info & opinion on
the issue.My wife was driving the car yeesterday and all of suddent 1st
gear and 2st gear cannot engage at all.So she drove the car for another
40kmh and as she stop at a traffic light near my house all of suddent
everything was fine and the gear engage normal.No weird sound nor
difficuilty of getting in 1st & 2st gear after that.The car was running
smoothly without any problem before this .Transmission fluid have done
and serve for 40k kmh.Just for the info it a hibrid 93 Mivec with mivec
manual gearbox.She was not going fast when the time it happen.Tought
before going to see my fellow mechanic asking u guys would be the best
thing to do...help here mate.

heizal,

have u drove over banjir area, or water pond or something like that before
this? my putra gearbox have same problem (cannot engage to 1st & 2nd gear)
if i drove on any water-pond or something like that. unless, u drive very
slow, then OK. After a week or two, everything will be OK by itself. not
sure why but it happen to me twice. Actually, the gear still can be
engaged but require extra force. good for ur hand-muscle. u drive hibrid
4G93 Mivec?? wow, that's my dream machine.

Mate it was butt naked clear blue sky on that day.No pot holes of water
on the alor star - Sg Dua highway.Mate same goes to me need to whack some
xtra force just ot engage on the gear..After that everything was
fine...Hope nothing serious on the trainy side....clutch pump no problem
as other gear superbly engaged...Heck mate...

sibok betul si bidin nie .. dude org tgh cite problem gear lahh apa laa
ko .. mana ada nak jual, but if i want to know how much u spend to get a
mivec transplant ?? i dont know what to do with my 1997 1.3 carb wira,
jual pun bukan ada harga ..

Mate the day before i decided to transplant mivec is the last day that i
would think of selling.Now aint no value at all but i aint selling the
baby.Even my wife had a good time with it...

Oh yeah..before i forgot went to the mechanic & have the transmission
fluid changed.After that all the way like "Ben Johnson"...

mate first you need to decide either to keep or to sell the car.If still
wanna stick to it better go for a transplant.Halfcut 6.5K+3K
installation,piping,parts(Belt,bearing,oil,others),aircond,alignment of
tyres...total you would need 10K to be at the safer side for a mivec
transplant.
