What do you think of Silicon Wiper Blades? Have you used anything like that
before? The brochure that I got claims that the wipers can last for many
many years and it comes with a 5-year guarantee.

Check out the picture on my blog at
http://www.hot-scree...n-wiper-blades/

What`s the price like?

donkie,

I have tried many types/brands of wiper blades.

To me all about the same, until I saw some replacement blades sold at Jusco.
This is only the rubber part without the metal frame and it is very cheap
and have been using them for quite a few years. Last about the same as
normal blades.

Lately found some silicone replacement blades, also at Jusco.
Have just installed, so cannot commend yet.

www.sanwonventure.com. A salesperson approached me last time and
introduced me to this silicon wiper. The quoted price is RM 70 inclusive
of free delivery within Klang Valley and installation. I think it has
high value for money. Have not tried it yet as my conventional rubber
wiper is still usable. I will definitely switch to silicon when the pair
have worn out.

RM10 bucks for replacement sillycons - I'm using them also can keep
changing for 5 yrs no need warranty still cheaper...hehehehe

the benefits of sillycons is the more water the better it works and
doesnt crack or peel like rubber under our super hot sun.

Sutekikar,

Yesterday, I was approached by a salesman from sanwon venture too. He
quoted me RM110 to RM120 for my Honda City. He said the price is going to
increase to about RM150 today!

Why so much expensive compared to yours RM70?

vr2turbo,

Jaya Jusco has silicon wiper blades too? Is it sold by the Jusco store
itself, or by an outside vendor setting up a booth there?

Which Jaya Jusco store is that?

donkie,

Jusco in Puchong. Car accessories dept.
Price RM11.90 per pc. for 20 inch one.
Bought one and fixed to wife's car. Seems to work fine.
Just got another last weekend and will fix to my car.

Can it be due to the length of the blade? He did ask for what type of car
that I drive. Blade size for Proton cars are more common, therefore lower
price maybe? I am driving an Iswara.

The same silicon refills found in Jusco, can also be found in Giant
(Penang, Bayan Baru). RM10.90 each but limited in lengths.

I've used them for over a year now and no issues. Still wipe as if they
are new.
