Hi.. You can find spark plugs in any spare parts shops; it's everywhere.
It depends on what are your choosing criteria, you want cheap plugs, use
the normal carbon type(<RM15). for more power can choose either titanium
(>RM50) or iridium (>RM150). Some iridium types could last for more than
100,000kms.

As for your question, comparing between denso & NGK is too general, it's
like comparing between toyota and honda.

I just changed to denso iridium IK series for my vios. For my car, it felt
dfference in acceleration, response is faster. Maybe it's because I'm
comparing with my previous worn out plugs.

Still haven't fill up for jugde the fuel consumption.

The Denso Iridium plug is about RM300++. The plugs is deemed for racing and
if use on our normal car, it will give better performance in terms of
acceleration and pickup. Car feel less jerky and can reach maximum speed in
long range speeding.

My previous Iswara 1.5 can topped 180kmh (the maximum) and matched Wira
1.6i during a run on the North-South Highway. Lifelong of the plug is about
2 years plus in my case.

Check out the availability for MyVi from the shops.

I have used Denso Iridium IK20 for my Avanza and recently also for my
Accord they cost only RM150 at PH Auto, Sea Park PJ.
No regret after using them for about 9 months. They are supposed to last
50,000km before they degrade as compare to normal plugs which are only
good for about 5,0000km before they degrade.

I think Myvi also used IK20, just checked with them. PH Auto ENTERPRISE

don't waste too much money on plug, they don't give obvious result, try
normal DENSO U- groove is enough. Install VS and grounding will help...not
expensive Plug. U r not racing but driving...Smile

Sorry I couldn't agreed with you niceguy. After putting on VS and GC on
my Avanza, the effect was even greated later when I upgraded the plugs.
As for my Accord the plugs did improved my FC abit and most important the
engine behaved very well with a much better pickup and smoother ride.

The plugs are not expensive if you calculate the overall.

Try the plugs first and let us know cos I already tried the VS and GC.

i also agree eten, after install the plug, will effect on pickup and also
last long for our engine even more clean for our engine ' valve' coz if use
lousy plug will make many carbon at our engine part so also will cause our
engine and the car will later like not smooth and even is like no power
heheheheheh :) coz my friends had tested on his vios or camry(old). and
also if really need to racing then will need to add the spark plug cable
heheheeh this one is more racing type if only change the plug actaully is
give us more smooth to our car and keep the engine 'clean' :). this is wat
i know lah, just for sharing thanks.

and also test be4 after install the VS and GK, be4 and after really have
improved a lot, and our myvi club member some of them even is change their
plug and VS + GK, is more powerful then be4 ehehehhehe :) this is my
concern, me change it not cause of racing is for my car last longer and
smoother :)

hlchan1,

I am also thinking of upgrading mine to Denso Iridium (either the Power
or Tough series) come 20K km service. Are yours the K16R-U11 Denso IK16
or VK16?

Does UMW stock these or were yours done elsewhere? Am thinking of getting
my car serviced after 20K Km service outside since my Vios doesn't have
problems. How much did it cost for your whole set? Thanks in advance.
