Hi, I have a 1994 Rover 820Si which although is not of very high mileage
(about 60,000km) is not in a very good condition. The shocks are gone,
upholstery needs re-doing as does the paintwork and the engine would do
with a overhaul.

Does anyone know a reliable workshop who specialise in re-building modern
Rover cars without breaking the bank? Any help or suggestions will be most
appreciated. Thank you.

P/S I bought this car 6 months old at rm110k. The new price then was
rm167k. it's now not even worth 30k so I thought i'd re-build it and use
it.

I think the 4 cylinder 800 series Rovers (like the 820) used Rover
engines. Only the V6 models used Honda engines (from the 1st generation
Legend).

The Accord engine was used on certain models of the 600 series, which was
a later series compared to the 800 series.

Yes, my engine is the UK Rover engine not the Honda Legend engine. So it
might be a thought to change the engine altogether if the parts are not
freely available. I was hoping on someone recommending a reasonably priced
one-stop workshop specialising in Rovers. Of course the uphols and repaint
wont be a problem - just the engine and transmission. Any more ideas or
suggestions? Thanks.

The 800 series used the T-series engine while the smaller 2 and 4 series
used the k-series engines.
The 600 series is based entirely on the Honda Accord...
You will have to try Sin Tong Bee for parts or Singapore where they
sold a lot of Rovers..incl 800 series, I sat in a relative's car
in Spore when new and it was great but now it looks the age.
There might be some chopped up o0nes from Spore here must look around.
Best of luck looking..
