Hi,
Just wondering if anyone had come across Holden vehicles lying around or for sale. These
are great Australian cars and are now rare in Malaysia. Most probably many would
not know of these cars, but Holdens came as Premier, Statesman models during the 70s.
Thanks,
Hatish Mayer

saw a couple in KL 2 weeks ago. saw one cruising along petaling street
while the other was parked at KLCC. both were berlinas/executive models
but badged as Opel zafira cars. They were old models, not new ones.
Probably mid 90s model, and were expat cars with DC plates.

blastarr,
Thanks mate for your quick response. Yes the 90s Holdens were badged as Opels. Eg.
you could pick up the Opel Calais locally for a cheap price and not worry about the high
cost of Opel parts in KL. You could instead use Holden parts from Australia for a song and
use the Calais for a long time without fear. I was thinking about it but changed my mind
as my love is still for the classic 70s cars like the Monaro, Statesman, GTS etc.
Keep in touch.
A good start to this forum for me.

Ekoh,
Last time meaning how long ago?
Currently, I am in the midst of restoring a 1978 Holden Statesmen Deville bought last
week by my friend who's equally crazy about Holdens. It will undergo a
total transformation with new pearl maroon, beige leather all round with merc
insulation & carpeting, beige vynal, 16" full chrome mags, boot recarpeting, as well as
mechanical rework. Most of the parts will be obtained from Oz. I have already rec'd the
catalogues on new and reproduction parts for old Holdens, which the Aussies are still
making, as there is a huge market for these great cars there.
I am looking for one for myself and some of my friends who are keen on going this route.
Let me know please if you come across any.
Some friends are also keen on American cars. Please inform me.
Thanks a lot.

That`s in the mid 80`s. I think most of it already in the scrap yard.
Have fun with your restoring the car, from what you mention, i think it will come out very good.

Hi V-spec,
If it is a Monaro, can you please describe how it looked. Was it a new model or the earlier
70's one ? Can you remember the no. plate ? Was it 2 or 4 door ? If it's the latest, then
it'll be 2-door. Previous ones were 2 and 4 door type.
Please V-spec, try to provide me with details, if you can. Thanx mate.

Well, so far no news on the Holdens. I was made to understand that there are quite a
few running in JB. Maybe someone in Johor state can reply. Seriously looking for one.

What about sourcing the cars from Australia or New Zealand?
