Hi Chevychevy,

I own a silver Chevy Aveo for nearly 3 months, one of the early batch’s
owners, would like to share my ownership’s experience and opinion with
you:

1) -I like the car cosmetic design, the brand and logo/emblem.
-I don’t like to drive a ‘common’ car, meaning that I don’t like to come
to a car park and see so many cars model/brand same with mine. It’s just
personal feeling.

2)-Frankly speaking, I am quite satisfied with its NVH, all meet/beyond my
expectation.

3) -Good, very powerful (1.5 for such a small size hatchback, engine power
is more than enough), excellent suspension and noise insulation.

4)-sometimes could hear a small noise when braking, found this problem
also when test drive Vios and Matrix.

5) ~ 8)
Not available yet. Have not sent my car for service, the mileage is still
less than 3k as I am not a heavy user. According to user’s manual, the
first service should come after 10K.

9)-To my point of view, I think the overall quality is quite good. Seem
like the quality have been taken care by GM even though it is a re-badge
Daewoo’s model.

10)-2 years warranty and 4 times free service which means FOC for labor
cost and engine oil etc.

Above are just my personal opinion and experience with Chevy Aveo.

tcx2757,

Thank you very much for your feedback, other reviewers can also share
your comments.

Item-1) Do you know what the logo symbolic is?

Item-4) Does the braking occurs all the time during braking of is just at
times? Why didn't you send it to the service centre for inspection.

Item-5-8) Which area do you stay? Which Chevrolet Service Centre will be
the nearest to you? Hope to hear your comment on that once your Chevy is
due for servicing.

If you do know any other of your freinds who owns a Chevy, do invite them
to participate is this forum. We can make new friends and share a lot of
ideas....till then hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

Hi there,

As you have known that Chevrolet is part of GM.
(Which currently is the world biggest automaker).

You might also know that GM has several brands and tie up under its wing.
Like Opel, Daewoo, Vauxhall, Holden, and even Subaru.

When u are specific about a certain model of Chevrolet (GM), u must
consider where they are and where are they made from. Some of the
Chevrolet brand (& model) is marketed under different brand in different
countries. Like Chevrolet Nabira is equivalent to Opel Zafira in Europe
(& M'sia & Sg), Vauxhall Zafira in UK and Holden Zafira in Australia.
Even in Japan they are under Subaru badge(though with slight modification
I heard).

Since Chev Chevy is derived from Daewoo component of GM, look around for
equivalence Daewoo service avaialability, apart from the new Chev.

Just my thought.

emm .. for me the aveo xterior looks good .. much better than Hyundai Getz
.. but the interior is pretty much let down. The dashboard look like they
are using the cheap meterial/plastic. It look very plastic. The back sit is
cramp. Just like Satria. But i think it's a good car compared to its price.
I like the service interval ... 10K per service .. !! emmm .. japanese car
just 5K per service .. this will save you a lot .. !! if you decide to
buy, the the green color .. nice laa .. !! like that color.

Hi ChevyChevy,

1)–The emblem is actually a ‘bow-tie’. The brand’s founder Mr. Chevrolet
(I forget his full name, he was a famous racing car’ driver if I am not
mistaken) likes to wear bow-tie and thus use bow-tie as the car’s emblem.
I don't mind it's a re-badge car as long as I like the model. Re-badge,
share common platform or chasis are normal things for globalisation of
automaker.

4)-the sound occurs just occasionally and is very small sound until
sometimes other passengers also do not notice it. May check during 1st
service, now the small sound is not big deal to me.

5-8) I stay in Butterworth.

When will you get the Chevy, btw?

This Chevy guy sounds like someone marketing Chevys, the way such lists
of questions are presented. I normally see them in surveys done by
research companies.

I would advise you to identify yourself if you are from Hicomobil and not
hide behind a nickname. There is one big public-listed company with staff
who can mislead people by pretending to be from Siemens but I don't think
all companies have such unethical people. If you identify yourself to
forummers, I am sure you will get better responses.
