Nice to see that there's a following for the little Renault Kangoo. Its
not so little actually, and that's an inner beauty few will appreciate.
Reminds me a bit of the old Renault 4s....,quirky but full of character.
The ride and handling is so French. Much better than some cars costing
almost twice as much.

I had one to use for a while, and like most people, was a bit
apprehensive of the little French machine. Then I made a weekend trip to
Cameron Highlands and all was clear...the little Kangoo (not so little
really - we packed much more stuff in it that my cousin could fit into
his Perdana) was a gem. Always composed in the highways with total
stabilty, fun to drive on the twisty stretches. And all in total comfort.
Not a single complaint from my passengers (who all commented that it rode
exceptionally well anyhow).

Fully loaded with people (5 adults) and luggage, I didn't expect the
Kangoo to perform miracles. Not with just a 1.4 engine. But the surprise
was that it did the climb well. And with good fuel consumption too. I'd
expected similar fuel bills to a regular 1.6L car or so (seeing that the
Kangoo doesn't have the best aerodynamics, and that I would have to push
the little 1.4 engine hard to get things moving). Nope...that was far
from the truth. The Kangoo was very reasonable with fuel considering what
it was put through. Quite pleasing actually.

The kids (not mine, but my cousin's) loved the spacious interior. And
their mother noted that the interior is robustly made to withstand some
abuse. (Yes, she has a Japanese car that's falling apart from her kids'
constant yanking and prodding)

I was in Europe recently, and noticed lots of Kangoos around everywhere.
Every French corner street has a Kangoo parked. And the Italians love
their Kangoo too (sorry, no Berlingo noticed anywhere there) and there
were so many around.

Would I get one? Yes. When its time for me to settle down and raise a
family, the Kangoo is on top of my list.

Hi...jcw9960

I suppose the Kangoo that u were driving is an Europe assembly unit?! BTW
did u feel that the engine was abnormally vibrating when the RPM was at 2-2.5k?

Cheers.

I can't remember the fuel consumption figures. But I know that it was
good.

It was a CBU unit with the previous front design. The new one is very
nice. Much better.

I had a look at a a new Kangoo parked in Bangsar the other day. It looks
quite good for a locally-assembled unit. As its being assembled by Tan
Chong, it should have high assembly quality I suppose. Since they can
assemble Cefiro there...this should be just as good.

robgan2310,
What message are you trying to send with this Kangoo thing ? You go round
and round in a ring. If you have anything in your mind then, share with us
French cars enthusiats. I don't understand your statements about nasi
kandar, meals, etc.
