Dear Alfamer,

Can you share what the problems and the maintenance wise, heard it going
to cost a boom. For replacing timing belt will cost around RM1k. Is it??
Sometimes I do think we need to try first then only we will know.

Thanks in advance....

Do you know why the maintenance of Alfa is expensive? Because Alfa second
hand very cheap. So you will not pay first but you pay later lar.....
But you gain gaya and syokness while driving, so give and take lar....
mana ada semua untung one.....

Depends on which model you drive and which parts you want to change. If
you’re driving a Ti, I think RM 1.5K is about right for complete
replacement of belt and other necessary parts. Slightly cheaper for Twin
Spark 1.8 and 1.6.

My mechanic charges me less than RM 1K for my boxer 1.7. Get a good
mechanic that charges reasonably (preferably an Alfisti), actually lots of
them out there. Just be cautious, don't go to someone who's first statement
is "ini kereta susah mau bikin, mesti mahal loh..." when you ask for
quotation. He will lead you to the chopping block. Ouch! Blackeye

aiyoh.... why u guys still paying $1k for timing belt + bearings(metal) +
other belts eg fan, alternator,p.steering + labour for 1.7 boxer???

Should be less than $600 lah...of course OEM parts lah, guaranty can use
one.

you forgot to include costs for engine oil, oil filter & water pump. hey,
i'm also interested to service at your place if the RM 600 include all those.

Haven't seen any workshop doing Alfa in Sungai Besi. i guess you are
referring to the shop at Salak South main road (with cherry trees around),
at the junction to Dewan Bandaraya flats.
