I've an alfa 156 v6, recently I can smell petrol quite strong both when i
was inside or outside the car. Can someone tell me what's wrong. thanks

Got a friend with similar problem. Later to find out that the petrol
filler piping has cracked and leaks petrol when filling up to full (up to
neck) tank.

Do you pump a full tank every time? If you do, then there could be petrol leakage
due the failure of the O-ring at the fuel pump. Get it checked.

I have this problem before.
The fuel pump under the rear back seats is leaking......you need to remove
the back seat and you'll see a metal cover looks like a round
cone.....remove the cone and you see a fuel pump.
As for me i've replace the whole pump and it cost me RM550.00 for a recon.
Please don't do it yourself....go check with your mechanics or go to
HHK...i did mine there...
