Hopefuly someone from Sime Darby sees this. I want a AR GT. Anyone have
any idea as to when and how much. Was in Singapore earlier this month and
managed to see one on display. an absolute beauty. Priced at S$149k.
Unfortunately I don't think the price similarites of the past are going
to exist ie AR147 last year costing RM113k and in Singapore S$110k.
Someone put me out of my misery. Taj, any ideas???

i hear ya aod! there was a 2.0JTS GT that was down here from SG recently
for the AROC trackday. saw it at a dyno session and the car is sex on
wheels. its so pretty it brings a tear to ur eye. u just cant stop
looking at it. sigh...
but i cant afford one now. :( howsabout we cut a deal. u get a GT when
sime launches it (i like the 3.2 V6), then u drive it for 3 yrs and then
sell it to me after that. :D
just make sure u take care of the car. oh and id like it in red, thank
you very much. heheheeh.... ;)

No problemo redd, just one condition, you lend me 250k at 3% effective.
Anyway, what will the price of the GT be when it arrives???? Am I
barking up the wrong tree?? Should I just carry out one of the numerous
other crazy ideas runninng through my head???

no idea on the exact launch date. ive heard that sime darby auto italia
will be launching the GT and the face-lifted 156 & 147 first. supposed to
be sometime in May but they're waiting for the first batch of cars to
arrive.

Estimated prices will be higher. I hear the 147 2.0 S/speed will be
around RM190k, 156 2.0 S/speed around RM200k and the GT 2.0JTS S/speed at
around RM250k. No 147 1.6 models or other manual trannies. Expected
launching in June at Sepang Circuit.

Main blame is on the Euro. It's gone up so much since MA brought in their
last batch of cars. Also bear in mind that the 147 and 156 are the
facelifted models which MA didnt bring in so prices would be slightly
higher.

Don`t forget too that Sime may be declaring the `true` values of the car
vis-a-vis the figures declared by MA. When the owner of the now defunct MA
can attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of the SC, what is
under-declaration of invoice amounts at customs? The latter is merely a
`minor crime`, relatively speaking.
