See, i have already warn you all earlier. More will follow suit after
1~2years in use. Even the CBU conti have facing quality issue not the CKD
one. The only different is CKD will have more in the time to come.

hmm..

1 thing i can really think off is the built quality from Naza. I
apologise for saying this but it is rather a true fact. Do drop me a mail
(my206club@gmail.com) if you do not want to proceed with Bluebox or any
sorts, got 2 more workshops that do the 206 = )

umeimei: yeah, it is a safely feature by the french as the ppl that sits
in front (driver and passengers) are rather adults. hence, when u lock
the doors, it is initiated by the front people. and the rear couldn`t be
opened without opening the front first..

chtan,

the 206 is my 3rd car - my main ride is an Accord Type-R. My honda
mechanic did warned me about the possible electronic fault of conti car,
but i still bought it anyway .... cause the 206 is too cute & sexy and my
wife like it so much. The problem i'm having right now are more on
workmanship as Naza is the one assembling it, hope nothing will fail
electronically. Hey, if does happen ... i just get rid off it, as i still
have the other 2 cars. Until then ... I'll enjoy cruising with the 206
(too bad I'm already married, otherwise it can be a chick magnet)... of
course, for the vrooomm vrooom action with the other boy-racer.... i'll
ride my Type-R.

Perhaps some of the Pug sifus can comment on this, I noticed some of you
already have your Pug ride for several years .... is it that bad?

Or perhaps I should ask chtan then ... do u experience this first hand?
Or do u just heard this from others as well?

Cheers

I don't really have 206 before but Renault Scenic CBU. My the other 2
friends have Renault as well and 1 Alfa. I had a very bad experience with
my ride after 2 years. In the beginning, everything was fun, stable and
very good in NVH, but after 2 years in used, all hell break loose. 4
windows gone, gearbox sensor gone, cd almost gone. The maintenance cost
is getting higher and higher every 2 months, so i sold my after 2.5 years
and bought the Carnival instead. My the other 2 friends are having the
gearbox, and power window issue as well. 1 of them sold her as well.
So, for me those conti-car is more or less like a show car, as long as
you don't use it as your main transport, everything is fine. Once under
heavy usage, be prepare for the kill cost of maintenance.
I don't mean 206 is as bad as my previous ride but judging from the post
here, not even 1 month in use and these little nigging problem have
surfaced. Better be prepared and good luck especially you will need it.

Naza? I can't believe Malaysians are assembling this locally. As far as I
know Naza is still at the learning stage.

I am still confused.. my salesman told me 206 is still a CBU as Naza plant
is not ready to assembling it.. anyway.. maybe some of u are right, CKD
with less local content.. Luckily my 206 does not have much electronic or
mechanical problem.

BUt anyone know why the cracking sound generated when i turn my steering?
It does not happen all the time.. but something must be not right...

BLUEBOX is the pug service center at jalan 225, PJ.. hehe (just got to know
also)

KLzodiac,

am not sure what do u mean the rear door wont unlock when thr front door
being opened? My 206, when the front door is open, the central locking will
auto activated and all 4 doors are opened.. is this what is supposed to be?

Ok.. first off, this reply, If I offended anyone in anyway, I apologise
for that = )

Anyway

Klzodiac: Accord Type R, good choice, give a bang for the buck if used in
Sepang against the likes of the Subarus and Mitsubishis. I have owned the
pug for 3.5 years. And no, it does not give me problems like what is
being mentioned (touch wood). The only darn problem I get is when I head
to look for aftermarket parts, there isn’t a word of Peugeot on the
application list.. now that sucks. But above all, I’d like to say that,
treat your car well (groom it, give it some TLC, wash it often, get it
check-up, maintain it properly) and it will in turn treat you well by
giving u a good drive. Bluebox is Peugeot’s authorized dealer (if u drive
from SJ to KL, look left when approaching Jalan 222, there is a small
building, blue in colour [Peugeot] that is Bluebox)

Chtan: respect that you have your own thoughts and conclusion on conti
cars. But if u noticed, u mentioned those that are problematic.. have
your friends ever tell you how good conti car is? Cos usually, as far as
I know, I will only complain to friends if there is a problem, am not
sure about you. But take it this way, open a new thread in every Conti
forum and ask about their reliability then only you conclude if Contis
are good or not. Before the Peugeot, I was driving a Perdana V6. Fella
gave me problem, esp the gearbox and WORST is, it is only 1.5 years old,
and I got it brand new, fresh from the oven. If you noticed like what the
other forumers said, it is mostly mechanical problems. Not the engines.
Now like I said, I respect your conclusions and in no way to agitate you
in any way or any sorts. If I do, please accept my sincere apologies.
(*peace*)

Affleck: Cracking sound is from the bar link or maybe the arm, get it
checked out in ur service centre. Will try to get more info for u. The
thing is, if let’s say your car is now locked.. and ur rear passengers
try to open the rear doors, you can’t.. it is a safety feature. Your rear
doors can only open when the front doors are opened.

Ok.. am off to get my timing belt changed.. cheers Big Smile

Affleck,

The door central locking mechanism for my car is faulty for both my rear
door ... sometimes can lock/unlock as it suppose to (whenever activated
by front door), but sometimes it just refuse to do so (as if central
locking not functioning). Naza fix them twice already, but only last few
days, then it happen again ... considering sending them to C&C for
permanent fix.

Cheers
