kiawin,

i think the spareparts shouldnt be anything like the most expensive
sparepart in msia la... some even depends on what quality you wanted...like
the asir filter got rm80-rm200+ etc but if talks about new cars.. i dont
think sparepart is really the main point of buying a car ler... if
sparepart is the reason... i think myvi is the best choice...

Hi,

I'm just thinking after 5 years down the road how much would I expect my
maintenance cost be? As I do plan to keep this car for long (pocket not so
deep :)), hence need to consider on the spare parts on the long run,
hopefully another 2-3 years on top of the 5-year warranty given by Naza
before my next car purchase.

From my previous experience with my protons (206 will be my first non-
national car), after 5 years some parts of the car such as aircon-related
parts tend to get "sick" and need some fixing.

The car itself, free service & warranty, it's competitive price really
attract me much, furthermore the new showroom is just right opposite my
house ;)

Any comment/suggestion?

it.. the handling, the view and comfortness etc...

and as for the rest i think we besically had covered it all in this
thread... read back :)

kiawin,

I saw your blog, you were deciding between Swift and 206?
Well, do you particularly like/prefer which car (the looks, the interior,
the features, etC)?
If yes, it'll be easier for you.

If not, and you're basing on the offers alone, you have to be more
careful on your choice.
For spare parts, I'm not sure how much does Swift parts cost; but
I "think" it wouldn't differ much.
Plus, Nasim promises to reduce the cost of parts, if it's true, we could
see cheaper parts;

But you can always source parts elsewhere which are cheaper. The problem
is that it's not so easy to find as compared to Japanese (not sure about
Swift). Also, it's not easy to find mechanic or expertise as compared to
local or Japanese.
Accessories is also not easy to get (not like in other countries) and
cannot simply let people install.
In other words, you need to be extra careful and take good care of the
lion.
Of course, it's not impossible to do it; there're people who DIY their
206 (add this and that), and also they're people who bolt-on turbos on
the Bestari, etc etc.
Just need to becareful when you let people install.
(e.g. let's say my Wira, when I install something, they simply find a
wire, then potong, then connect; Actually, it's not a good thing even for
a Wira, my Wira also got problems before due to electricals)

For service cost, schedule and details, Suzuki has done a good job and
being transparent, you can view the FULL Details including prices here:
http://www.suzuki.ne...aftersales.aspx

I think other manufacturer should follow and practice this...

Anyway, as epang has suggested, I would highly recommend you to test
drive both cars first before making your final decision, afterall,
there's no harm test driving it.
Even if you didn't choose it, at least you already driven it and know how
it feels.
Plus, the test drive can give a totally different feeling and affect your
final decision.

Hi Andy,

You're right in terms of choice of car, as I'm somehow prefer a hatchback
instead of a sedan :) Hence, it's a straight fight between Swift and 206.
I wouldn't deny that 206 actually has a much better offer in terms of
features, and even pricing :) I think the discount is just an extra perk
la :)

From google, I found Naza Citra's spare parts pricing, this is why i'm
curious is there anyone here has this info on 206.

Yeah, my only worry is that in future I have little choice in terms of
workshop (or sourcing for parts). My dad had some bad experience in cut
throat spare parts and servicing from Citroen many years back.

At the same time, there's no workshop nearby my house for servicing.
Nearest is Wheels in Klang (I think at least 10-15km away) able to
resolves all my car services or I need to travel to Glenmarie (25km?) to
do the job.

Will go to show room and request for a test drive. Actually last month I
actually tailed a silver 206 premium test drive car all the way from PJ
back to Klang. I believe they are sending this car for the newly opened
Bukit Tinggi showroom :)

Thanks

kiawin,

You also stay in Klang?
I didn't like NZ Wheels Jln Kapar after a bad experience there and reading
others experience. Not sure if they've improve or not. But previously, I as
told they only have 1 Peugeot mechanic as it was actually a Merz SC.

I also travels far away for service, but it's still ok cause you don't need
to service often like local car; The inspection is every 10,000KM (or 6
months) and the service is every 20,000KM (or 1 year). So, consider 6
months, it's quite a long time before you need to send in; and you got need
to go to the SC twice a year. (Unless you have some other issues; touch
high quality wood).

As for the 206 spare parts, it's hard to tell because Nasim didn't make the
prices transparent to the customers. But you can check in
PeugeotClubMalaysia forum for recommended workshop and also spare parts
shop; They also have a thread for sharing repair costs, but not much people
posted there.
I can't comment on the prices as I'm also consider a fresh lion owner.

The Bukit Tinggi showroom, if I'm not wrong, is shift from the Klang
showroom right? They've closed it down quite some time ago.
When you test drive, remember to "play" with the Tiptronic mode~ Big Smile

hfyim,

well all i can say is i got the free service vouchers for 2500km first
inspection then 20,000km 'first service' then 30,000 '2nd inspection',
40,000 '2nd service' and so on till 60,000km service...

so i also doesnt know.. thats why i need to go to the SC and ask them
properly.. and see if i need to do the 10,000km or not.. coz i dont had any
free service voucher for 10,000km...

you got any questions that wanted me to ask them>
