All cifus...

1. Just to get your advices or opinion. Naza will take our old car ( trade
in )with good price when we buy the bestari 206. But the warranty only for
3 years without any free service. It means, they pay more for our old car
then we got nothing free with service.

So is it ok? Actually how much we "untung" with 3 years or 60k km free
service maintenance? For my case, since i have full setllement more than my
xantia value, I think its ok for me to let go my xantia ( got some problem
) to Naza and get the 71k bestari premuim with 4k deposit!

2. How about the bestari FC and maintenance compared to Vios or City? coz
my wife always talk about vios and city, just for toyota and honda. I know
vios and city better la, but what I mean is " teruk sangatkah nak jaga
bestari ni" ?

omar5815,

i am currently driving a 206 premium and its only 1+month old.. so i can
tell you that the FC of my 206 is around 400+km perfull tank (well not
actually full la around 90% full). You might get more out of it depends on
how you drive.. heck someone even can get double that.

I dont know about the promotion/trade-in price but currently someone told
me there is a rm8k discount for premium (no trade-in) so frankly speaking
i didnt check it out myself yet.

I think its all depends on your current car value..and how much is the
trade-in value that they willing to give? there i think you can see the
difference berapa you untung lor.

Then talk about free service n warranty, mine is 3 yrs free service and 5
yrs warranty.. so for the how much is 3 yrs free service cost...? i pass
the ball to Andy hehe.. he will know more, as i currently not even touch
2500km yet.

If you think vios and city is better why did you bother to get 206? no
offends la.. its depends on the person... from start you already think
vios n city better.. why dont you just stick on it?..coz from my
experiance there is no perfect cars, and also it up your luck also.. some
get a car with no problems for more than 10yrs while others one first day
already got problems.

Go for a test drive on all 206, vios and city.. and see which one you like
better then only come and ask lor.. (if you havent done so) Dont buy a car
just becoz you get more discount or more untung.. buy it becoz you really
like it.. well i guess most of the pug owner here will agree with me hehe
give face give face la.

And lastly on" teruk sangatkah nak jaga bestari ni" ? well.. what makes
you think so? but i all i can tell you is
1. very hard to get some optional accesories in malaysia.
2. very hard to find a suitable difference type of rims.
3. no alarm system
4. need to take good care of the gear transmission.
5. not to mess around with the electronic component (eg install diff cd
player, speakers)
6. common know problems of squezzing sound at the rear seat (folderable)
7. cannot see the front part of your cars from inside (front passanger n
driver seat)
8. lost the key, pay atleast rm500+ for repalcement.

so can you bare with all these?.. if no.. then take vios or city.. if yes
then come back and i will tell you the good side pulak hehehe

Thanks very much epang! Andy, any additional?

My add;

1. Actually I had test drive at Kg Bru Naza. Kereta sudah jalan 4k km. So
not virgin lagi lah. Testing it for abt 10 minutes only...and its ok
la...no any surprise. May be i should test again for long time. Used to
test my friends city for 2 minutes only, and i feel goyang2 like my
previous waja. Did not test any vios yet. I told that city and vios better
than bestari in terms of FC and maintenance, i guess. And my wife like it
because " people said toyota and honda got good quality and FC"

2. i dont like my problemed xantia. I just think to let go it. My loan
still around 10k and value lesser.

3. The promotion: For bestari bodykit : Disc rm4200 and for premium rm3000.
So d/p for bestari bodykit is rm2777.80 and for premium rm4288.00

4. My Salesman said, cost of service for 3 years around rm2k. Is it right Andy?

5. For teruk sangatkah nak jaga? I dont care ( no bother me )abt opt
accesories, change rim, extra electric component, and cannot see the front
part.

6. Alarm and reverse censor we can put it...how cost?

7. My concerns are

a. Cost of GBox failure after 3 years witout warranty!
b. Also any part from my car after warranty finish!

So, pls add your write epang! Andy, how about the maintenace?

Omar,

the alarm is not advisable as there are a few units that have been fitted
with aftermarket alarm systems that have seriously fouled up the car's
multiplex wiring system. but, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
you can install an Automobiles Peugeot approved reverse sensor.

as for the test drive, do bear in mind that the 206 comes with adaptive
auto. that means if the last person who tested the car drove slowly,
you'd probably face a sluggish car as it is set to econo mode (on it's
own, automatically) but if the last person drove it aggressively, you'd
find that the car is jerky if you prefer to go slow. basically the car
takes 5 to 10 minutes to change the gear mode. and for more pick up, you
need to mash the pedal to the metal (it's europeanlah, different style of
driving needed).

for an aggressive test drive, i think most of the 206 drivers here (those
with the adaptive system tiptronic porsche) are quite lively drivers. you
could sit in my car and experience some spirited driving if you want.

oh, that new promo is heaven sent for those who have used cars with too
much to pay back to the bank versus the value of their old car. so, it's
a good time to get the 206 now.

omar5815,

Basically most of the thing already mentioned by epang.
But what do you mean Vios and City better? If in terms of FC (Vios yes,
City only if i-DSI version).
But if you're comparing the details, specs and features. The 206 wins
handsdown anytime, except for it's "less 100cc" engine; that's if you
care la.
You own a Xantia, a continental; You should know, in Malaysia, it's
ridiculous if a Continental is cheaper than a Japanese. To further
explain to you; the 206 is competing against the Jazz/Yaris.
If you check out Autocar Asean, you'll notice the 206 1.6L is more
expensive than the Civic 1.6L. Here? You're getting cheaper than
Japanese, I mean, way way MUCH cheaper.

If you actually check out the 206 in details, you actually find few
interesting details you don't find in Vios or City; Well, the City maybe
is very competitive since it does have much better features than Vios,
and it's interrior is more class; As a plus, you get the 7-Speed CVT
(which are also not cheap to replace in case of failure).
The CVT will provide you the smoothess driving among the 3 and best FC;
but it doesn't provide the real feeling of driving a car with "gears"; if
that is your concern.

For the 206, you'll have 4 STAR EURO-NCAP Safety Rating; which most
Malaysians ignored. Another plus of the 206, the Tiptronic feature.
There's also other details of the 206 if you check it out, the meters are
of JAEGER brand, it's class and very nice; and others.
Also, take note that this 206 has a very strong and rigid body, unlike
many other cars of the same range; You'll learn to appreciate it when you
take the cars to winding roads, to the limits, etc; not to mentioned it's
handling.

Since we're in a Peugeot forum; it's normal to think we're promoting this
206. But let's forget the brands and cars and compare specs and features
(just like how you compare when you're buying a PC or handphones).

Then again, there is looks which are individual preference; some may
think the 206 is outdated, or some may think the interrior of 206 is
ugly? It's all up to your opinion.

Lastly, as epang has mentioned, decide what's best for you and what you
like; not because of the high value of trade in. It's important you make
the right decision (maintenance; love for the car; etc). You must think
carefuly that one day you won't regret because you cannot accept the
maintenance cost, or actually in your heart, you prefer Vios or City,
then your eyes will keep eyeing on them instead of your own car.

---------------

1. Yes, the City does goyang more than Vios. But somehow City owners
seems to disagree?

4. If you're following the ORIGINAL service schedule; it will be every
20,000KM. Which will cost you around RM200++ (if using Fully Synthethic).
The 60,000KM is the MAJOR service (your 3rd service); This will cost you
up to RM1K (depending on the labour charges; it's quite expensive; hope
they can reduce this labour charges)
The additional cost you need to pay compared to Vios and City is, the
Timing Belt @ 80,000KM. (So, about another RM1K including labour)

5. I won't say it's hard to take care at all. Just maintain your car
properly and do regular checks periodically.
As for cannot see front part, once you're used to it, it's nothing. Plus,
you'll learn to appreciate the ride of the 206.

6. Yes, you can install these; Make sure you install during purchase in
order NOT to void your warranty. Anything you install outside which
involves electronics, they can void your warranty.

For Alarm, you don't really need it actually because the car comes with
Immobilizer; The alarm will just merely provide your the "sound".
If you still want to install, what I was told is there is the "cheap"
version (local) and the expensive ones (branded?) or Peugeot Original
Alarm?
For the cheap ones, it's not recommended;
Plus, installing alarm, you'll add another collection to your key, that
is a separate REMOTE (not sure about Peugeot Original Alarm).

7.

omar,

1. since you had test drive 206 (manual or auto?) how does it felt to you
compared to city?.. i drove my sis bf's city before on highway and felt
the steering gone very stiff at high speed (around 100kmph). Btw my wife
sis own a vios (06) and i notice the front bonnet and rear boot is
actually very lightweight thin piece of metal!.. when i knock on it, it
sounded like tin susu... difference from the body n door metal so maybe
that help the FC?. But as for the lastest vios i had no idea.

2. no comment really hehe

3. premium is still rm3000 discount? someone told me now is rm8000
discount.. maybe you need to reconfirm from your SA?

4. I guess Andy answer you that.

5. Well since you dont bother then we can continue the talk heheh

6. Get the premium edition which comes with reverse sensor, or had it
install for around rm280++ ( thats the price my SA told me last time) as
for alarm, best not install just incase it messup your electrical..
actually most of 206 that i knew doesnt had any alarm installed.. unless
its pre-install (imported 206)

7. Well all i can say it the warranty will expired sooner or later.. you
worried about after 3yrs the gearbox may fail.. what about after 5yrs?
10yrs? later?.. actually you may ask your SA about the extended warranty?
as far as i know the official peugeot warranty is actually 3 yrs and
another 2yrs is warranty by Naza itself, thats what make it 5 yrs...
frankly speaking la.. if you like to modi your car the shorter the
warranty is better hehehe or else like me.. i wanna add this add that also
scare coz it might void the warranty... hehehe

now lets talk about the car itself..

about performance.. some said 206 is underpower?... well all i can say is
(from my own experiance) 2 weeks ago i drove my car back to my hometown
with 4 adults (including me 5 adults). I drove from sg.besi highway all
the way to alor gajah/tampin toll.. and i was goin about 110-120kmph most
of the time.. and i between overtaking cars up to 140kmph (as my wife
scold me not to drive too fast coz her parents is in the car hehe) from
alor gajah/tampin toll i drove on the country road from tampin-gemas-
segamat goin up hill down hill bend sharp turn holes everything.. but i
hardly felt any difficulties.. even overtake a fews lorries on the same
time...

and one my way back.. just me n my wife i decided to try the top speed..
and i got up to 170-175kmph and i can still go further but there is some
traffic infront and it started to rain after reaching seremban so i didnt
really manage to get the actual top speed.. now in your opinion do you
think its underpower?

about comfort.. as you know there is 3 person sitting at the back.. well
they told me surprising for a small car and look small from outside the
interior is not that bad. and the back seat is really comfortable.. (mine
is leather seat) and the front (my mom inlaw seated at front becoz she got
a bad back) said the seat is really nice and comfort. When i was on the
country road with hump, hole, bend etc.. they hardly felt anything.. the
suspension works wonderfully. And i was goin around 80-90kmph on bends
avoiding holes etc. hehe

The steering (premium edition) is very comfort to hold, kinda thick and
soft (wrap with leather) the gear is fun to play with from auto to manual
and also sport mode n snow mode. I've tried the sport mode and the car
really pick up power (but maybe not so good on FC hehe)

Everything for me is good enough.. oh btw the rattling/squeeky sound from
the rear seat? i fixed it with some spray of WD-40! easy!

lastly i just wish to say this is what i experiance la.. some ppl might
experiance differenly... its up to the person to decide lor...

ps- i think naza should give me some commision la.. kekekeke

I tested auto 206 bestari. Cannot compare la to city, bcoz just 2 minutes i
tested the city b4.

My SM at Kg Baru said, around rm300 for back sensor.

For discount, rm3000 for premium come with raya promotion. If i am not
mistaken, they will pay rm5k for my old car to Naza's used car panel.

Contoh: my xantia have 10k full settlement and the car's value is 5k, so
they will pay to my bank 5k to settle the car. So the rest 3k ( from 8k
disc without raya promotion )will reduce from d/p so i have to pay 4k plus.

Yes, i live at puchong. My neighbour here, same jalan, got 206 bestari and
307 peugeot. But I belum pernah sembang2 pasal kereta dgn dia. Very busy
maaa, blk kerja sampai rumah lewat, no time to talk to neighbour hehe.

Thanks...
