this model should appeal for the 20's to early 30's and its the closet
thing you can get a EVO 10. New lancer seems like a full package car but
after test drive I noticed that it certainly lacks power. Press hard it
will hear the sound of the engine working very hard to get to top speed
from 0 to 100km/h and I found it very disappointing. It seems like they
have overated this MIVEC engine. Maybe the 18' wheel is just not the
correct size as this is more suitable for the EVO version.

Sound proofing is bad and I certainly feel that its certainly lack behind
honda, toyota and even Kia Optima (new model).

Other than that it is surely a very tempting car to buy. For RM115k, you
get most of the accessories and specs and I dont think any 2.0 litre car
model can match it. Many will still go for this car anyway and the high
number of bookings have evidence that already.

Kerb Weight is 1385kg....that's the reason why it appears to be lack of
power. Perdana V6 is only 1300kg.

Heavy chassis...dun expect to be fuel economical.

if you are not familiar with CVT, of cuz you would say it lacks of power.
CVT gives continous power throughout the rpm, not like auto/manual where
you can feel the gear jerks. having said that, promoting the Lancer GT as
a sports car is laughable since it's using CVT. which sports car in the
world is using CVT?

please put an option for manual transmission. it's sportier and fun to
drive not to mention cheaper too.

CVT gb can outrun a normal conventional GB, for the same engine hp/torque
on crank. CVT lack feels therefore it does at times feel less power. But
the pick up and FC is better than normal GB.

Did anyone read the review in Sunday Star last week? it seems the cvt gbox
can overheat if driven too hard - a warning light will come on for the
driver to slow down. an overheating gbox will definitely be less responsive.

hi all,

i've tested the car twice, the first time is in the city, use mostly
auto, feel that the car really sluggish, but when i tested it agian on hi
way, using only peddal shift...wow its a total different story, its very
powerful and responsive, feel like a 2.5liter car...u just need to get
use of the cvt to drive the car...for this price, its a fun car to own...

as for the warning light and the advice of maintaining the car at hi rev,
the warning light is a safty feature to warn u to slow down, and its not
advicable to maintain the rpm above 7000 for a long period of time...

I agreed with you, i tested drive 2 times it's really Sluggish and noisy.
But i still traded in my 2005 Honda City Vtec. Hope i've made the right
choice. Coz i beleive that it's because of the CVT character and INVECS
III is still learning and new engine is tight. But who in the right mind
will rev the engine up to 7000 and stay there for a long time??

Is wondering what make is our Audio system. Is it also rockfordfosgate
without the AMP and SUB woofer??

In general, our butt meter can not detect absolute power but we
definitely sway by the relativity of speed movement.

The Lancer CVT Invec are design in such way that the manual mode will
emulate the manual GB, ie that upshift and jerk to give a more sporty
and "responsive feel". In reality, you may or may not get extra faster
acceleration.

Thats why on the manual mode, most of you guy feel very powerful, plus it
give a bit of feel that you are dragging the RPM too.

They should have offer a manual 6sp option or perhap a 6 speed AMT just
like the Colt 2dr Turbo (not the rubber band CVT invec version). That
will really blow away a lot of car and will give even better fuel
consumption.

The CVT will always rob away the power/torque feel and will take away
power hence its "lack in power" sensation.
