What is the engine code for the Lantis 1.6 Auto engine? I saw the B6BF
code at the Air filter pipe which connect to the intake manifold of the
engine.

M323F,

If I'm not mistaken, the B6BF is the part's code number which believed
that easy trace from a spare parts shop in oversea, especially in Europe
& Continental I think.

What I know is our Lantis model is BVBT, just like FC3S & FD3S are model
no. of RX-7. The most outstanding engine from Lantis was KF-ZE 2.0 V6
which delivered 170hp,but 1.6 I really dunno the engine code.

I'm not understand that why 1.6 were selling only in few countries last
time, even Japan only selling 1.5, 1.8 & 2.0 V6, same like Hong Kong &
United Kingdom...

I would like to know whether our Lantis was CKD last time like Ford
passenger car?
Anyone know?

Errr,
Dunno what is the B6Bf for, but as i know, 1.6 and 1.8 share the same Air
Flow Meter. So i think it just represent the part no for the AFM.

The model no for Lantis 1.8 should be CBA8P... for V6 is CBAEP.

Hi all,
I have several question about converting to Lantis original V6 engine.

Q1.Do we need to get approval from JPJ by converting to V6 engine ?

Q2.What to do with the old engine after converted? keep it or can it be
traded in ?

Q3.Can auto transmission lantis be converted to V6 engine ?

Q4.Will the fuel consumption increase tremendously ?

Thanks

ml323f,
q1. yes. once u converted the engine, u need to let jpj know.
q2. u can sell it if somebody need it, u can keep it for sovenir, trade in
won't have much coz last time when i wanted to trade in, these guys just
offer rm250 !!! its up to you.
q3. whatever transmission u have, u can convert... so if you want auto,
look for halfcut with auto transmission, same goes to manual. Manual
halfcut for V6 Lantis is harder to find, but there are several out there as
i know....
q4. the best person to answer you will be calacula.... can't help u with
this man.

Thanks satako.

by inform JPJ, is that mean they will update the document 'car grant' ?

normally for such conversion will involves only the engine or engine +
some other parts from halfcut ?

will there be any drawbacks of such conversion ?
e.g. low resales value and etc.

ml323f,
well here is how the process goes. 1st, convert. then go to jpj and inform
about ur conversion. they will give you a letter to get ur car inspected by
puspakom. then after passing the inspection, u will have to go back to JPJ
to change the Car registration card. Update the insurance guys, and walla,
finish story. But this is much easier if you take ur car to a runner and
let them kau tim for you....

it depends actually, but normally, conversion will include changing of
engine, ECU, wiring, engine mounting, etc. but let's say u just bought a V6
lantis halfcut, then the conversion is much direct, everything from the
halfcut, just take it over to ur car. finish. u can even chage the dash,
aircon controller, compressor, radiator, everything from the frontcut.

drawbacks..... price that u pay for conversion won't be added into the car
price when u sell it(not so applicable for honda.... u convert, the car
price go up, wonderful world for honda isn't it) but if you make a
conversion, i bet u wanna stay with your car a little longer. and the best
part is, u have a more powerful engine for you to play wif !!!!!
