Hi Guys,

I do not own a ZX but here are my experience with the 405 which had the
same problem.

First thing you should do for major improvements would be to change the
front to a larger ventilated discs and calipers. Not sure if ZX can take
xantia/405 or even better a 406 discs and calipers. I changed my dics and
calipers from 405 to 406 and the result is awesome stopping power. The
change is dead easy since all mounts to the same holes, the only thing is
that the 406 hoses are longer so I had to use back the 405 hoses. Since ZX
has the same rims pcd with 405/406/Xantia, I would say you got a good
chance of using 406 discs & calipers but please check it out first. Not
many mechanics would want to try it out for you and they might brush you
off so go to your pal mechanic.

Secondly, if you have drum brakes at the rear, change these to discs.

Thirdly for those who change to slotted/drilled discs, always use new pads
when you change since if you use the old pads, it might create uneven wear
and warping, etc. Also do not brake hard for the first 1-2K of using the
new slotted/drilled discs/pads, drive gently lah. After which you can
start stomping. Not sure about ATE but I use OMP slotted/drilled on my 406
combined with custom made steel braided hose and the result is awesome. No
such warping problem with using the discs for high speed driving then
washing the car afterwards.

Though I must say that my XM brakes are still the ulimate stopper, not
sure why...probably all those liquid getting continously cooled???
