thinking to send the f/pump for service. any idea how much it would cost

What is your mileage? Sometimes better not to change the settings unless
you are going for a complete diesel fuel pump service. Then the pump will
be dismantled, recalibrated, tested and refitted including the injectors
etc.
And don't forget, the preheaters also need looking into for wear of
starting will be problem on recalibration.
Yours second hand right?

Hi Azhar167.
Thanks. Will study carefully before adjusting the f/pump.
Yes, 2nd hand unit, the car only clocked 85km, 6 years old car.

Cost varies for different towns/areas so check with your mech.
Pump settings are not 1/2 or 3/4 you must actually use a dial
gauge and set the injection timing with it.
It is not a just lebih kurang adjustment as you presume like a carb.
engine , a diesel is a bit more complex so it is not a DIY job unless
you have all the correct tools at disposal, one slight mistake
can be disastrous to the engine.
