You are right, water is still getting into the tank.
This morning when back to the same mechanic and he pump out some fuel to
check. Same result, water contaminated fuel. Told him I have pump petrol
from a new Shell station on MRR2 this time (unlikely that their tank is
leaking). Asked him whether it could be due to a crack in the fuel system
since it has been raining for the past few days and he agreed most likely
that is the cause.
The mechanic called just now to confirmed that there are cracks in the
tube. He'll try to seal it or I may have to change the whole tank plus the
tubing. Any idea how much it will cost.
Thanks to all who have shared their thoughts.

your exhaust is mist caused by the heat of your exhaust emission and the
cold, humidity of the environment... also for those with cat convertors,
then it is the exhaust being converted to water... (i think)

Benson/vonnig, It's a chemical reation/byproduct of combustion.
For every litre of petrol burnt ,a litre of water is formed.
So in the morning when evrything is still cold, you will see
water in the form of condensation/mist coming out of the exhaust pipe.
but when the exhaust is super hot then the water will have evaporated
by the heat by the time it comes out through the pipe.

I also drive a 1.8(A). U mind giving the mechanic's contact and address in
Batu Cave for future reference. My car engine has died a couple of times
last weekend and i think it is because i left it idle for a long time.
Car, merakuj kot ... lol.
Thanks
