it seems like we had the same problem here, try to Fill in the petrol at
100% full and observe that's any fuel leaking below the fuel HOSE, I just
found my Fuel HOSE near the upper rear tyre leaking out the fuel, and
perhaps this is the main reason to cause the air go into the fuel tank
and some times the car will feel like no fuel go into the engine, no
matter how you press the gas pedal the engine still go died off. try to
change the fuel hose that it may be a familiar problem of ZX & Berly

better to chk out the fuel hose first and tighten it up. if problem still
persist or you can see clearly fuel leak not coming from the end of the
hose, go and change em.

Take care that after you wash your car, open the fuel lid, and dry with
towel the nooks and corners of the fuel entry point.
If not looked into, this rubber/pvc part will rot and will cause water to
seep in, especially when it's raining or while washing your car.

wallacelee,

The mechanic used some kind of fuel that came in a cannister. Disconnected
the fuel pump and the fuse hose. Connect the fuel from the cannister to the
engine. Disconnect the air intake hose from the engine. Start the engine
and while the engine is running continue spraying some kind of gas into the
engine through the air intake. Let the engine run until the fuel from the
cannister pressure dropped to zero.

The two cannisters came in a box (can't remember the brand) and printed on
the box purportedly made in USA.

After removing all the water from the fuel tank and changed the spark plugs
(to Sagem Eyquem as the mechanic do not carry Valeo), I thought problem
solved. I was wrong, I encountered the same problem again yesterday when
the engine died thrice. But this time it happened when the car is going up
hill. One more thing I notice is that the radiator temperature dropped from
around 90 to 75 degrees, thereafter it feels as if something is choking the
engine. It will travel for about 50 meter before dying off.

The car was alright this morning full of power to get me to work.

I recall the mechanic telling me that he noticed one of the spark plugs was
wet when he was changing the spark plugs. Thought this was due to the water
mixed fuel hasn't dried up yet. Is this the cause of the engine dying off??

I don't think it's the air filter, as the mechanic has cleaned it last week
and neither it's the electricals as the AAM man has tested it and said it
is still in good working order.

Planning to send it to Wong in Batu Cave this time for proper diagnostic.
Is he still there?

Benson, the mechanic I sent the car to is in Ampang Jaya. If you stay near
Batu Caves, send it to Wong or Surjit instead. I think they will do a
proper job on your Cit.

My ZX suffered similar problem a few years back. SC changed a whole list
of items, from plugs to fuel injection relay but problem persists.

Funny thing is , when the vehicle is at the workshop everything seems to
be ok and mechanic can drive the vehicle for days without any problem.
Took the vehicle back thinking the problem was solved and went outstation
with the vehicle.

Out of sudden while crusing at quite high speed the engine cuts off again.
SC changed one item, I think they call it throttle potentiometer. Until
today, car is OK
