I need to change the left-hand driveshaft (short) of my ZX 2.0i. Can anyone tell me how much it cost - new and second-hand? Where to get if second-hand? Thanks.

Guys,

I think the most likely component that fails first and most in any drive
shafts assembly is the cv joint. By replacing the CV joint i believe it is
adequate rather than replacing the whole drive shaft assembly. In general,
the 'tuk'...'tuk' sound that we hear when turning the steering wheel at
full lock is indicating the cv joint failure. This would save cost...Just
my humble opinion.

Cheers

finally i have to spend rm1100 for both sides of the driveshafts from
asli auto.because the foreman checked n said the driveshaft is bent.i
think rm1100 for a new driveshaft is reasonable.

Hello 8198,

What was the brand for the drive shafts that you bought at Asli Auto?

RM1100.00 for both sides seems rather cheap.

Thanks.

Param, sorry i cannot see any brand name on the box.i even took the
driveshaft to let my mechanic check n to confirm it is a new one.it is
only have sticker on it mentioned iso 9002 n made 2/1993 .not even know
where it is made.tan of asli auto said it is made in france ,who knows ?
that is why i put this up ,so to gather more info n alternatives.
