Just a little something to say.
To deal with fire, one should use water
To deal with heat, one should use coolnest
At the end we are all human being bound to do mistakes, give and take, be
forgiving, we should all be humble, respect others to be respected.
Forget the past lets put away our differences.
May God bless all of us.

my opinion. yes, it is indeed possible to get 200bhp or more from the 8V
engine reliably. you need
1. welding on the crankcase for better rigidity. Welding on the correct
places where the journals meat. This is not some Kedai Pateri Pak Ali
from Kampung Mengkudu, but some rather special type which does not DISTORT
the original case structure. it has been done many times, but i doubt
anybody in Malaysia can do that.
2. Extra meat welding on the heads and some fancy art work on the heads
and finally be gas flowed. who can do here in malaysia?
3. Extra counterweights to be welded on the crankshaft. Nobody i can trust
in malaysia. needs to be fully balanced , repolished, remagnafluxed, short
peened, and all this WITH A BIRTH CERTIFICATE from a REPUTABLE SHOP, not
Ah Fatt Machine shop in Pasar Borong Selayang.
4. bigger and stronger H-BEAM or I-BEAM for turbo with ARP2000 rod bolts.
5. Cylinder head studs changed from steel to Chromoly.
6. Special sodium valve exhaust with some fancy valve work. They have many
types.
7. Pistons? Untuk Citroen takdak, maybe Activa pistons? or some
lightweight nikasil coated shite.nikasil coating is very expensive,
pistons and cylinders alone can go up to 10K for 4 pcs.
8. Improved oil sump baffling and oil passages inside the case.
9. Injedtion system a lot can play.
10. and the list goes on
BUT
1. who is willing or has the money to pay for all that? i dont.
2. who can do or have the expertie or machine to do all that?
3. all that for 200bhp? i might as well buy a Japanese car for much
cheaper than that.
4. after all that, your engine will look like an alien and nobody can fix.
5. you have loud exhaust to live with.
enjoy the car stock makes me live longer and healthier and richer - less
mental stress.

macam tengok cerita hindustan,
pistol dah tukar tangan 4 kali tapi orang jahat belum mati..
polis pun lambat sampai sebab naik jip (tak dak turbo)

I got lots of leftover parts from the halfcut. Anyone looking for spares or
upgrades or conversion parts can get from me. Refer Classifieds section at
www.mycitroen.org Forum for the listing.

Hey muff I'm also thinking of doing the 16v conversion after hearing the
sound or the lack of it from your car the other day. Damn quiet man
compared to the clatter of the 8v..I actually got a big shock the
difference is like heaven and hell! Funny it seems so strange that a
Xantia can sound like that...maybe because there are no 16v facelift
version in Msia and we never heard or seen before.
Btw, how is the fuel consumption like?

Excellent choice. You won't regret going for 16v engine. If you match with
its AL4 gearbox there more go on the highway. Especially when theres Sport
mode to select.
Had a trip to Johor last week therefore get to run fast and monitor fuel
consumption. Took the car up to 180kmh which it climbs easier than 8v. I
did 140kmh to 160kmh all the way from JB to KL at night when there is less
traffic. The best part is the fuel consumption. For that kind of driving
style, its about 30L/300km for the journey back to KL. When I sped the same
for 8v, its over 40L for the same 300km journey. 8v returns terrible
figures for high speed driving.
Moderate urban and highway combined returns 700km on a full tank of fuel.
Possible to get more miles if driving sedately on highway but I simply
can't resist to gun the motor! Speedo climbs happily had me wish for a
manual gearbox. There was one stretch of road somewhere in middle Johor
where theres an uphill climb. The 8v would slowly drop speed as it
struggles abit. 16v on the other hand powers on at 120kmh without tiring.
The 16v engine resulted in alot more power delivery and improved fuel
consumption. Just the kind of benefits one would wish for from an engine
upgrade. Go for it! The money saved from fuel consumption will pay off the
upgrade in the long run. Not to mention all the fun driving.

I have a XM in coma condition waiting to be revived. Its a 3.0 V6, which I intend to downgrade to a 2.0 engine. I am thinking about a 2.0 16V engine from a xantia that would push out 138HP to replace the 3.0V6.
Interested to know how much your half cut and transplant costs at harapan as a benchmark. I understand that my job cost may be different from yours.
You may email me directly ramesht9@hotmail.com if you do not wish to post it in the forum.
Appreciate if you could share some chop shop locations where I may be able to find a decent 2.016V half cut.
Eager to put the XM on the road.
Current drive is a 405 SRi.
Previous drive BX19 GTi.
Thank You

Sorry need to hijack this.
How about putting in a 16v 406 engine and auto gearbox in a Pegoet 405 SRi (M) ?
It should be a straightforward plug and play like the Xantia transplant since the 405 is even closer than the 406. From what I heard, Harapan seems to be the favoured place to do it. Any idea how much it all costs ? Cheers
