honestly i was going at 60-70km =/ i have no idea .. the car steering
just jammed on me .. and no i can't use the brakes it was raining and wet
if i slammed on them i would have spun even more i think .. the belt is
broken and now after they checked .. was a puncture on the left front
side tire as well .. that may have been the main problem i think =/

may i offer my heartfelt sympathy.

imho, i think the belt snap and you loose steering assistance. i can tell
u the steering is jammed hard and almost impossible to steer without power
assistance.

i know this coz i hv to drive mine ZX diesel for 2 days without assistance
before i fixed up the power steering pump.[ with a used belt driving the
alternator only]

if u need a pair of head light + side light, i found a potong zx 1.6[japan
spec] in Kobe Jaya along subang airport road. the lights are in good
condition. MAB further up the road use to hv a ZX diesel for cannabilising
but my last visit...they hv moved to dunno where.

if the oil pan crack is repairable, i can arrange my staff to weld it for
you foc in shah alam.

hi tanhb

the 1.8/1.9/2.0 zx uses plastic idler for the belt. it is best to change
it during a belt change.

the xud 1.9 diesel on ZX and Xantia uses a longer belt with two bullet
proof metal idlers. these seem to design to last a lifetime.

hope the info is of help.

Hi Sevenhks,

Sorry to hear about your car....but does your insurance company insist you
to repair at their panel "klinik" ? or you can choose your own cit doctor
that you frequented?

Get well soon for your broken heart!!!!

they asked to repair at their panel "klink" yeah .. but family is friends
with some of the people working in that insurance company .. so they've
allowed us to go to our own mechanic to repair it .. which is good
news .. the last time their panel klink helped with my zx .. the paint
work started to peel after a few weeks .. so hopefully everything goes
well ..

repaired the whole front which cost me about RM1000 now .. bumper and
some body work with the signals .. we'll have to see how much the other
repairs costs ..

says cause i crashed into the drain .. the aircon was still going and
sucked up water into the system .. so we'll see what can be done with
that :(

steering... sux man... it's heavier than if power steering was never
installed in the car...

hi stblll

since i had sold my ZX 2.0 and kept the diesel, i cant make a part
comparison.

i think the petrol plastic idler is larger in diameter and run on single
ball bearing while the diesel uses slightly smaller but come with double
row deep groove ball bearing like those in the front wheel hub!!!!

maybe get the mechanic to check if you hv enough belt adjustment to take
the slack. if ok you surely hv a bullet proof idler!
