Saw her on Friday. rear suspension no longer self steer as the ZX/xsara.

They called it deformable cross bar with anti roll bar....New to me.
According to them better than ZX/xsara but saw common spring & straight
absorber below....need more explanation on this type of suspension.

Went to check out the C3 at the Bukit Bintang showroom yesterday.

I noted that the car is actually a Punto class car. Supermini. Which pits
the Fiat Punto, Skoda Fabia and the Peugeot 206 against it.

The Alfa 147 is Golf class - and its contenders are the Golf and Pug 307.

Not that's sorted out - lets compare the Superminis.

The Punto is a 1.2 litre while the 206 and Fabia are 1.4 compared to the
Citroen's 1.6.

Then while the Punto is CVT, and the 206 and Fabia are slush box
automatics the C3 is a manual.

Let me explain - its actually a clutchless manual very much like the Alfa
Romeo Selespeed thats available only on the 147 2litre and the 156 2 litre.

Which means - the C3 will be the fastest among the Superminis (except for
the overpriced Mini that is).

But since its a Super mini - the rear seats are quite cramped. This goes
for all the superminis.

BTW I just had a chat with the guy in the showroom and he told me that the
C3 is meant to be a replacement for the Xsara. I am dumbfounded but I just
kept quiet. Could not help shaking head as I walked back to my car.

new Honda City only 79k, and new Toyota will be below 90k.
Citreon will surely die.

The problem with the gm/ceo of these companies is that their appointments
are political in nature. They are so and so's relative/crony and they are
there not because they are capable but who they know. As such these people
have no fear of losing their jobs even though they make the most stupid
mistakes which even a first year business student would not make. They go
around in nice cars and make their brain dead decisions in posh offices
and even if the cars do not sell, they do not give a hoot, even if the
company was to fold they do not give a hoot as the govmen will come in to
rescue them and these parasites will go on to another cushy job to kill it
off after some time.

I have owned a zx before and i told myself that would be the first and
last time i bought a citroen in malaysia unless the distributorship
changes hand. Imagine sending your car to their pj service centre and they
tell you they do not have the spare part and they had the bladdy cheek to
ask you to go to their jalan ipoh branch to purchase the part so that they
could fix it for you.!!!!!!!!!!. I had a cracked windscreen that I wanted
to change and they told me that they do not have any stock and asked me to
wait for one , maybe two weeks and I do a lot of outstation travelling and
I did not want to go outstation with a cracked windscreen that was getting
longer by the day so I had to go to their contractor who had stock and it
was cheaper than having it done in directional. In retrospect probably the
staff told me so that I could go direct and maybe they get some commission
from the contractor since if i was to do it in directional, the staff
would get nothing. At least in this case there would be some introduction
fee. I was specifically told to inform the contractor that so and so sent
me and the price was guaranteed to be lower that if it was done in

So whether it is 99k or 109k or 60k, i guess i won't be buying a citroen
for a long long long time.

Have been sometime me not posting in this forum. Bout this c3 wait and see
the price will be discounted since some car mfg is offering lower price
e.g honda city which is selling at RM78,800.00 OTR.If Directional still
playing with their old style, sorry sooner or letter we will see C3 siting
2 or 3 years in the show room. That time if they give good offer we
can "sapu" e.g Opel Zafira , now they can even offer RM12,000.00 discount.
(this have been offered to me and willing to take me punya Xantia 1.9TD
at RM57,000.00-last time me bought me punya Xantia(model 1999 registered
in year 2000) at about Rm20,000.00 discount from it original price).

As i said, if i was the Directional head , i would be shitting bricks and
sooner or later as ASuffian has said, history will repeat itself and the
price will drop faster than the stock market did during depression
period - by then all those who bought first hand before this "sale" will
suffer a depreciation in second hand market value.

having said that (my bone of contention against directional), the C3 was
tested against the new Golf and other hot hatch like Punto. You may call
them super minis etc etc but in the end, at this German show which i was
watching in Germany past midnite there, the top two cars were of course
the Golf and suprise suprise the Citroen C3!

And if it is as gets a as good as the Golf ratings in Germany, this means
it is up there among the best for that range!

they can be shitting twin towers for all i care... at that price i'll buy
a bloody sonata... (blasphemy!!! Big Smile)

i mean i love the C3 and all... errm.. btw, i think the City will be a 1.3
and not a 1.5... the C3 has all the feature and similar crap that we all
dream of... but then again... what you dream of comes at the price when it
is new... also the other thing is that since it comes with all the latest
tech etc etc etc... how the hell are we gonna find spares for it after the
warranty... think like the clutchless thingy and the paddle gear change...
hehehe good luck... value is there when new... but second hand... mati

but we can argue all this shaite till the cows come home and still get
nowhere... basically are those shaiteheads gonna do anything to improve
about their marketing for Citroen in malaysia? the way things are going i
dun think so... look they make the price increase sound insignificant and
also subsequently make the original price for the first 50 orders sound as
though they are doing you a favour... if i blardy even go to look at the
car i'll darn well be doing them a favour let alone buy it... wake up and
smell the fresh air directional...

The 1st 50 customers of the C3 will take, say...2 yrs to fill it up (he
he)!!! the 50th customer might probably get his/her car in late 3004 or
early 2005!! if they still sell it at 98K!~!

It'll then be discounted further to 78K cos it'll be a 2003 car still.

Are they using their brains by pricing it this high!!! Furthermore it's a
Citroen (no pun intended)....it might do if it's a Toyota!!
