such. This guy is in the same row, some 4 doors away fr amoil and just
next to aj exhaust. He does not sell the regulator alone but does the
whole job. Yr bearings and the armature bush will certainly be awful after
say 100kms so, why not do a complete job. The alternator is also sand
blasted so it looks like it just got out of the factory.

Getting the alternator is quite a pain with the XU10 engine as the alt
sits below of power stg. The XU9, alt sits right atop, so much easier. For
XU10, slacken belt and remove belt tensioner below,then remove the power
stg pump (undo the size 17 on the high pressure pipe end) and then the
alt. Take note of all the nut types and some positions for thick spacers
on the alt.Push the alt aside atop of the oil filter and undo/remove the
main bracket which holds the stg pump and alt. The bracket must be removed
as the alt is to big for the space between the bracket flanges and
radiator. Then remove bracket and alt. Fitting is opposite sequence. Got
to watchout for the spanner fouling into radiator core. It takes like 1
hrs and no special tools, just open end/socket spanners and allen keys for
the bracket.

direction.

Your detail guide on removing the alt is really helpful.

must be out first. Another easier way, would be to pickup a alt from
rijoda @ 280 and send it for refurb job (range 40 to 100) before just
dropping by any mech for a swap job.
